Siren: Blood Curse spotted on the cheap at Play-Asia photo

I had really high hopes for Siren: Blood Curse before its release, but the odd feeling of playing episodes of a television show turned me off in the end and I did not finish it. However, that issue clearly did not bug everyone, as it was given quite a few favorable ratings, but I'm sure some horror fans are unsure whether or not to pick this one up.

Thanks to a tip over at Siliconera, we discovered that you can nab a hard copy of the Asian version of the game, Siren: New Translation, from Play-Asia for $24.99. It is not region-protected and has an English voiceover, and even with shipping added in it is cheaper than the $40 you would spend to download it from the PSN store.

The offer is only good for the next 5 days, so if you want it, I'd suggest you don't wait. There's shibito waiting to be killed, you know.

Awesome, I'll be buying this. Wanted to play it for a while, but couldn't spare the hard drive space. Thanks for the heads up.

I thought the concept was cool, but I hate the fact that the game's episodes aren't in order.

@Cotton McKnight:

I think all of the game is in English, at least thats what I heard. I think the only non-english part is the paper manual, which isn't really necessary since there's an in-game version of the manual that I'd assume is English too. I could be wrong but I swear that's what people were saying.

I'll agree that the feeling of playing a TV show and the episodic style of delivery was completely incompatible with this game for multiple reasons, but I found it too entertaining to care in the end.

Yeah you go through the same environments several times, usually with different characters in different times of the day and weather, but I at least thought that the environments were so lushly detailed (especially indoors) and lit that I WANTED to go through them again as they are mostly laid out in an open manner that makes it unlikely that you'll have explored the whole level in one go.

Shame you didn't finish it, Colette. The final boss is trippyyyyyy.

So the only difference between this version and the version I can download on PSN is that this one comes in a box and has a manual that I can't read? The game is exactly the same? Everything that is supposed to be in english will be in english?

Everything is the same. I've seen DMV's copy of New Translation and you can set it to full English.

Also, damn you Colette for telling me about this good deal, because I do not need to be spending money right now but am actually considering this.

£15, from Amazon. If you pre-ordered it by about a week.

Play-Asia's great, but their postage ain't the cheapest (nor the fastest).
