SingStar Queen hits retail August 18, will be amazing photo

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that the new standalone disc for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2, SingStar Queen, is headed to North America on August 18.

As you can expect, it's simply SingStar with Queen songs -- 25 of them to be exact -- which sounds pretty incredible. Songs include "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You," and "Fat Bottomed Girls." You know, only 25 tracks seems a little skimpy, for sure. But considering they're all bound to get an entire room singing, it just might be worth it. (The PS2 version will only feature 20 tracks due to lack of Blu-ray disc support, of course.)

The PS3 version will also support the new voice control menu, which will allow you to scream out the name of the track you'd like to sing. Hopefully it will recognize "muthaf**kin' 'Killer Queen' b**thes!" A patch to enable this (along with a full set of trophies) is coming to the PS3 version of SingStar early next week, as well.

WHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!???? I may actually have to buy a Singstar game.

Why Queen is so under-represented in rythm games? That shit is gold.

I can't tell if you're being serious? Do they really remove tracks from the PS2 version to try and pretend the blu-rays lets them fit more? OK yes, seeing as this has been out in the UK a while, apparently so. Wow.

Really? It's not doing the same thing that Guitar Hero: Popular Band Name Here has done where they have songs from the band in the title and a few select other bands as well? I understand that this is just singing and only 20 or 25 songs depending on which one you get, but still though it's just a minor thing that bugs me.

Regardless, as long as I can yell the hell out of "Don't Stop Me Now," I'm happy.

By just the title SingStar Queen, I didn't think I'd be interested.

They need to maybe make it more apparent that it is a game filled with songs by Queen, not a game for queens.

You know you could just import the Euro version if you want it since it's been out for about a month now along with the wireless Singstar mics.

Also the reason there are more tracks on the PS3 version is because there was a Singstar update a while ago that allows you to swap Singstar disks in your PS3 and run any PS2 Singstar game in your PS3 regardless if it's a backwards compatible model. Hence, Sony needs to give you an incentive to buy the PS3 version of Singstar:Queen over the PS2 one. They did the same with Singstar:Abba

Oh and Singstar is awesome fun singing with a friend or 2! I love Rock Band but Singstar always provides more fooling around.

@TheCleaningGuy:
Sadly those tracks are not in the game. You can check out the track list here

I guess I'm going to be a SingStar owner. Picking up this and the Abba one will make me a superhero in the eyes of a certain awesome lady that I know. Good times.

Sure, they can make Patapon 2 digital download only, but this gets released on a physical disc... grrrr....

Besides that, this is pretty awesome stuff.

Finally some Queen! Mercury is a god, rest in peace. Shame that it was singstar that got first dibs and not Rockband or Guitar Hero, but all well I'll buy whatever they want as long as I can sing "Under Pressure".

A Karaoke video game? I usually prefer doing that kind of thing at a nightclub while drunk, with my friends, with hookers.

Only a karaoke game? Of course I'm buying it, I love Queen, but I'm waiting (and wet-dreaming) for "Rockband Queen".

Consider +1 sale of this game.

Singstar: Queen is hard.

You just don't realise what an insanely adaptive singer Mercury was. He'll go through 3 octaves before you can take a breath; the Mad Bastard (RIP).

I bought this for my GF on her Bday last week, but I think I've played it more... oh dear.
