Valve's co-op zombie shooter has made quite a few references to Simon Pegg's classic Shaun of the Dead in the past, from Louis' costume in Left 4 Dead 1 to the cricket bat melee weapon in Left 4 Dead 2. Today, Pegg himself been getting to grips with the latter game, and he seems to like it!
"Left 4 Dead 2 inserted. I have not come this far, to die now. Yo zombies ... Let's go," Tweets Pegg. "Using the cricket bat. Feels right."
Pegg's initial impressions are glowingly positive: "This game is all kinds of awesome. Love the Zs too. Somehow fast is OK here. Good combo of Romero lethargy and 28 Days beserker rage. Sweet!"
So there you have it. Simon Pegg is an authority on all things undead, and he approves of Left 4 Dead 2. In case you needed any further proof that this game is terrific fun, you now have Pegg's seal of approval. He even likes the fact that they're the fast-style "Infected" as opposed to his preferred shamblers.
Now all we need to do is work out his Gamertag and stalk him ... uh ... I mean, not stalk him.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Shaun of the Dead was awesome.
Left 4 Dead 2 is awesome.
Simon Pegg is awesome.
It all makes sense.
Yeah, I feel the same way.
This was totally newsworthy.
Still, Left4Dead and Pegg are both awesome.
Grow up. It's Sunday. It's the Sunday after Christmas. There's very little to work with here.
Didn't even know Simon Pegg tweeted. /adds him
And despite sarcastic douchebags, his approval of the game is a nice touch!
if only i could get paid to re-type what famous people tweet
Even if you did, you would still be a cock-faced prat.
Also, Shaun approved: win. This post is relevant to my interests.
Maybe if you had a gaming blog of your own with a decent-sized readership you wouldn't have to troll ones that do.
Also, how did I not know Simon Pegg had a Twitter!?
Of course, if I wasn't already follwing Simon Pegg on Twitter, I'd probably find this post both informative and interesting. Regardless, this is news?
This!
As for Excel, Brytyne and Munkee, Why ya'll gotta haet? D:
Seriously how does this site attract these losers?
Also when will people realize Jim isn't a journailst. He's a blogger. He writes a blog. If you don't like blogs don't read blogs. Read fucking GameSpot or something.
Doesn't it explicitedly say this is a blog somewhere on this site?
I read GameSpot occasionally, thanks for the tip though.
Looks like missed the be a fucking asshole part of the comments. Ill have to be quicker in reading the updates like all the haters.
You still haven't acknowledged the fact that it not only is it a Sunday, it's the Sunday after Christmas. Of course the news is going to be slow. And yes, GameSpot probably is more up your street.
And slapping journalism on everything suddenly increases it?
The fact is this what a blog is. The fact that you want to change it doesn't make it so.
This is in fact what it is. I mean what do you want to happen? For the site to change itself overnight? Seriously there is no basis for your bitching. Pull the plug out your ass and loosen up. Chrsit.
Funny I was thinking the same thing in regards to this story.
I'm not trying to be a dick but I don't see why certain people try to bombarde (sp?) this site with the argument "...but journalism!"
"It's not like you can't ignore my comment rite."
Just like you can ignore blog entries you don't like. But apparently you'd rather bitch.
I don't care what Simon Pegg said either, but he is someone a lot of people know of and like, and he said something about videogames. Why is that not worth posting on a site devoted to all things videogames?
But I could use the exact same argument against your comments. :P
"I don't care what Simon Pegg said either, but he is someone a lot of people know of and like, and he said something about videogames. Why is that not worth posting on a site devoted to all things videogames?"
Yeah, this.
That's where you fucked up. The fact is you're wrong.
It's not that you don't care. I couldn't care any less. But you descredited the site based on bullshit.
The movie really reflects how I could react if a zombie outbreak unleashed.
Simon Pegg! Awesome! L4D2!
But anyhow, Simon Pegg is awesome. Just recently found out he voiced a character in Ice Age 3...need to check that shit out.
What the fuck is your problem? "if only i could get paid to re-type what famous people tweet" is a pretty valid statement. You can take it how you want. But, it seems that everything typed on this fucking site is taken as an attack. Jim Sterling, this makes you a hypocrite for telling me to grow up. Most of your writing is based on sarcasm and you obviously cant pick up on it when aimed back at you. Perhaps you should spend time to read your own texts back from time to time and think about how we might take them before you post? Heres hoping that the destructoid community wakes up a little for 2010 :\
@Jim
as my mother use to say, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."
That goes for your comment and your post.
I'm interested in what Simon Pegg has to say about L4D2 because I think Simon Pegg is awesome, but have yet to follow him on Twitter. Now I'm going to.
