But I'm not too worried by these. Their obviously just set photos so I'm not really convinced one way or the other.
If this movie fucks up...bets on the sequel will be produced by SyFy? ;)
If I start hearing, however, that suddenly the otherworld turns into a fluffy white cloud covered with bunnies (and not bleeding, bunny-men costumes) then I won't be buying a ticket.
Yep, same with music videos. If anyone has ever been on one, you'll know how insanely boring it gets between recording/set change-over/actors and actress/artist makeup or wardrobe changes etc...
Dad took a trip to the set of Silent Hill and sat in some lame chair that looks like my brother when he takes a dump then had his picture taken with some nurse chicks that he probably wanted to do. I hate him so much.
Stop comparing it to the original games (or cartoons in transformers case) and see it as a film in its own right, and you'll enjoy the film better cause you wont care about the comparisons
They have the right bodies, but those faces show that they're just using the Homecoming/first movie design again. The real SH3 nurses had actual faces, with long bob cuts and blood covered mouths.
Who wants to bet that they also changed Vincent and Douglas into girls, so that they now have to add in a few pointless scenes with some random dude just to compensate?
I'm still really excited for it, but I really don't know why.
Ya don't worry, that's what I meant by "closer" and the whole "bastardization of the IP"...which is going to be inevitable sadly.
I can totally see if this failed SyFy doing the sequel. Think about it...if they did it canonically, the 4th game would be so damn easy to make. All you would need to do is do a "spooky apartment" film....SyFy can do that...I think they still own a HD camera or two?...goddamn I hate them :'(
I forgot it was that director! He also did Soloman Kane, which was a lot of fun. Now i'm even more excited!
I hope you were joking. The movie in itself wasn't *terribly* bad. But it *was* an awful Silent Hill movie. Had it been an original IP, it would have been perhaps a passable mediocre "thriller" film, but to take the source material, completely fuck with it (names, genders) and then to randomly mix parts of 1&3 and then just steal some monsters from 2.. just generally left a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately I'm not particularly looking forward to this one either, though I will watch it, I'm just not expecting much. :\
You gave me a sliver of hope for the movie, though I don't want to get excited like last time, just to be left down again.
Nope, totally looking forward to it. It was closer in tune with the first 3 than the most recent games. And the cast + director + writer were all amazing. I don't think gamers will ever get more respectful treatment. I obviously hear and read the bad reviews, but I wont pretend to understand them. I think it was having Akira Yamaoka score the film that sent into the 'All Time Favorite' category for me :)
