Silent Hill: Origins demo leaked, Climax says they're not the origin photo

An internal demo of the upcoming Silent Hill: Origins title for PSP has been leaked and is currently being downloaded from several torrent sites.

UK developer Climax makes it clear that the demo leak did not originate from there.

"All I can say is that code did not leak from Climax – 100 per cent guaranteed," said Climax CEO Karl Jeffery. "The code that is out there is fingerprinted and was supplied solely to Konami for marketing purposes."

Are they blaming Konami for the leak? Regardless of who is to blame, Climax seems to be going out of their way to make it clear that the leak did not come from their studio.

"At Climax we have strong and proven security procedures that protect all of our code, assets and builds," added Jeffery. "We have developed over 100 titles in 20 years in business and have never had a leak or theft from inside the company."

I can't think of a better reason to own a PSP besides God of War on it and...well having an extra $150+.

I never liked silent hill. too many leap-out-and-scare-you moments, not enough subtle horror.

@Orcist/AngelsDontBurn: yeah, i know what you mean. this is a damn good looking psp game IMO and gamestop said it was one of the best looking psp games.

if orcist is talking about the grainy filter they applied to the game then that's how it's suppose to be (which i love) to make it more eerie. i really don't know what he means on terms of "looks"

Posted this elsewhere...c&p;

apparently this 'demo' is actually the full game, closed off and coded to only allow play from the hospital. Some dude posted one of the ending on youtube...

*SPOILER* Bad ending http://youtube.com/watch?v=IfROpx0ug1c

Be careful boys and girls piracy is bad!

What I meant by "looks" is that the trailer/gameplay that came out a few months ago are dark and unimaginative. Even worse, the only thing the guy does is swing a hammer around. The entire package just seems very meh to me.

but that's teh silent hill gameplay orcist. it's never been concentrated on gameplay but on a moving story that let's you play through such a creepy story.

I'm kind of annoyed I can't get a hold of Silent Hill 1 or 2 anymore for a reasonable price. I really want to play the originals.

@ Petie - emulating them with a PS1 program is the best way to go for one, that's how I play mine. Two is not too hard to get.

I'm super sketchy about this title. At E3 it didn't hold my attention at all, but being a huge SH fan, I'm going to try to track it down anyway.

@ PetiePal: I believe the PC versions of 2 & 3 are on GameTap. Can't help with the original though.

i don't see whats so wrong with a demo being leaked, i think if more demos were available for the public that would drive game sales. look at a game like loco roco where there are like 4 or 5 demos, it's a game where looking at it i would never even pick it up but after playing it i may pick it up for a decent price. i'm also registereed to get the god of war demo, i've never played a god of war game other than for 5 minutes i played a build demo of god of war 2 last summer, so having the god of war demo if i like it will be one more person buying game.
