Silent Hill now on PSN ... in Europe photo

The BBFC spilled the beans early, but Konami's psychological survival horror Silent Hill is now available to European PSN accounts. For we filthy Capitalismos stuck in America, we could theoretically make a Euro account and buy it that way, but it will cost us expensive pound coins. Still, it might not cost that much considering the UK economy has collapsed quicker than a baby's skull in Croydon.

Oh, and obtaining an EU credit card is probably more work than it's worth. I already have one though, since I am the don.

The PSOne Classics page is easily my favorite part of the PlayStation Store, since I'm a whore for nostalgia. I just wish the US PSN would do more with it. Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Abe's Oddyssey and anything from Square Enix are all noticeably absent. Please fix that, Sony. Fix it or I'll be forced to write mean things about you on a blog.

A blog on the Internet.

Also it's dirt cheap. €5 or 4 pounds.

Agreed! I want my metal gear solid on PSN. I would also like the Vigilante 8 remake that XBLA has got. Although from what I have read what was included in the game, they really gimped the original release. Half the amount of cars are it in, and half the levels aren't even there too. :( makes me sad

I could never get into the Silent Hill series. The game play is too slow for me. Can I get some Crash Badicoot 2 or Fighting Force?

I'll never understand why other countries get the classic PSX games while we're stuck with games like 2 Xtreme.

Midgetsnowman: You do realize, that Ehrgeiz is one of the SE titles on Japanese PSN, so if SE decides to release something in the US Ehrgeiz might be one of the first to be released.

This is welcome, being that you can't buy the discs for under $20, used.

I agree, where the HELL are our classics on the PSN store? Resident Evil 1 2 and 3? I really don't want to pay 20+ bucks for a new copy of RE2 because I lost my Leon Disc.

I remember before the PS3 came out with SOTN on the network.. People were asking almost a hundred bucks for a copy of it.

Please fix this Sony, people gouge for classic PSX games.

I own the original Silent Hill. It is fucking awesome, and creepy as hell.

Silent Hill will not play from the disc on PS3. Whenever you fire a shot there is noise that will play the rest of the game. I wonder how they can release it on PSN but the original will not work.

Because your disk has original code on it, but by reworking the source-code to work on the PSN they can fix the bugs that stop it working properly on PS3.
Simple.

Horror survival? This is not horrifying at all. This is just a bunch of blocky pixels humping vigorously against your pixels.

Holy Heck!! Super Punch Out and Silent Hill on the same day! This is a good week for downloads in Europe.

The PSOne classics section over here is normally totally void of anything worthwhile: a couple of the games I actually would have purchased for it were for some reason discontinued before I got a PS3, and in comparison to the American and Japanese ones we have nothing. I'm glad to finally see something good on here though; since I played Silent Hill 2 last year i've been looking for a copy of the first entry to no avail.

I'll be getting this shortly :)

Jim. You're the Kira of Death Note.

But in real life. And with video game related people. I can see it now.

Meh, that's nothing. The Japanese PSN has about a million PSX games.

Also Barcode's comment makes no sense.

I'm with BlackFreefall on this one. I love horror, but never liked Silent Hill, even 2, 3, or 4. Maybe if this comes to the US I'd give it a shot for $6, but I'm not too disappointed right now.

This will be an excellent deal when it hits the states. Shit is like 30+ dollars on amazon on ebay. Luckily I snagged my copy for about $20 two years ago, but hopefully they'll bring it over here.
