This rocks! Really want to play SH2, never finished it on ps2. Really glad theyre doing the HD thing with the must play classics(for the most part lol).

I doubt they would remake SH1 in the way they're going to remake 2 and 3. It'll probably end up being 2, 3 and 4. Remaking 1 would require them to up the 3d models to look better. Plus, there was Shattered Memories which was a "re-imagining" of the first.

YAY. I can play a WORKING copy of Silent Hill 2! The backwards compatibility fucked SH2 up. So many game-breaking glitches.
Ah, SH2 is one of the best if not THE best survival horror games ever made. An HD remix is well worth it in this case I think.
I'm a fan of SH 4 as well so I wonder why its not in the collection. Its not most peoples favorite in the series but it still leaves a sizable gap....

now i have an excuse to get SH3
but i already have the 2nd....and its meh. not as scary as hyped. voice acting gave me nightmares though

Sure, I would love to play through SH2 another 5 or 6 times in HD. I just hope they can do something to the cutscenes to make them not look assy like God of War collection's did. Cutscenes are way more integral to the SH experience than to GoW's.

Well, to be honest these games would benefit the most from an HD version. Playing the PC version of SH3 then dropping down to the PS2 is like smearing vasaline on my screen.

also I'm not really sure how I feel about these HD remasters, especially when it comes to Silent Hill
I bought a slim PS2 last year and hooked it up to my old SD tv in the guest bedroom specifically for replaying older games like the Silent Hill and Metal Gear series (I've already replayed the Silent Hill games, but never got around to the Metal Gears)
to me they're older games and they were designed with older televisions in mind and they still look good on SDtvs
and in the case of Silent Hill, since the original developers are no longer around it'll be someone else doing these "remasters" and to me that's almost like messing with a director's original vision for me a movie, for example I hope they don't remove the film grain effects
so I'm skeptical of this, but maybe I'm just talking out of my ass and they'll look amazing, I hope so

I really wish they would throw an hd remake of Shattered Memories on here too. The main game I'm interested in, but don't want to wii or ps2 it. Also it's just lazy to leave off the room.
I'm not sure I want this. If the controls stay the same, this will be terrible. If they do something to make it more modern, then I'll all for it.

Bravo, Silent Hill 2 badly needs a re-release. Before now, it's been a dilemma which version to replay when you get in the mood.

There's the XBox version, which also has Born from a Wish and lets you turn off the fuzzy filter. But it hardly seems worth using up the remaining lifespan of your 360 for an old game.
Then there's the plain old PS2 Version. For all the extras on the others, I still prefer it. It's the reason I bought the system.

My brother has been looking for SH2 forever, so he's pleased though he also said "where's The Room" so there's that.

Eh. Don't really feel compelled to get these in HD at all. Hopeful the new one turns out OK, sounds more promising than Homecoming ever did at least.
For a horror game I'm not really scared by Silent Hill. I play for the melancholy, thick as molasses.
SH3 has that one particular room in it that would scare a Navy Seal. But yeah, for the most part these two are all about atmosphere and dread rather than terror.
Silent Hill 4 was awesome. I wonder why it's not included. Does anyone else think SH4 would benefit from a remake with better controls and if they made Henry a little more....emotional?
i liked the 4th one(though never finished), i probably will pick Zone of the Enders(only played first one very briefly) and Silent Hill(i never played the third one) collections on 360. if Peace Walker was downloadable on 360 with fixed QTEs in Torture Chamber part(but i doubt it will) i would pick it up since both MGS2 and MGS3 sucked donkey balls.
as much as i am excited for this news(always wanted to play Silent Hill 2) they should have included 4 since it was pretty much the last Team Silent game before they all got disbanded.

Meh? I mean I'm happy that Silent Hill 2 is getting HD treatment (and sure, it's good that 3 is getting it as well) but would really like Silent Hill 1 in there, too.
