At least Downpour looks great(imo)

This, though. Well this is just crummy.
To say "we're not going to do psychological scary anymore" is a little weird though. If it turns out to be something like a Silent Hill Kart Racer though, or House of the Dead: Silent Hill edition, I'll take 15 copies right freaking now.
Apparently, Konami put a few SH characters into their iPhone kart racer. I remember when Pyramid Head was cool.
That said, all but confirming that you no longer care about the theme of the series, and indeed the way it's viewed by the public, will always leave me with a poor taste. It shows of executive meddling, design by committee, and cashing in on a name.
Not saying one is better than the other. Well, actually I kinda guess I am.
"cooperative multiplayer"
That's it, we're done here. Everybody go home.
To all those "excited" about the changes: there's a difference between trying new things and completely bastardizing a franchise for the sake of money.
1.Make creepy game in a creepy town with creepy shit going down with good characters
2.?????????????
3.Profit
If your not gonna give people what they want in a silent hill game maybe you should just call it something else and stop shitting on the brand...
East vs West? East doesn't need a West to compete against, can fail easily by itself.
I'll judge the game based off the game itself not what fans think it should be.
If anything SH fans need to worry more about the upcoming HD bundle and Downpour before crying over the spinoff on a handheld which isn't canon.
This isn't where the franchise is going. It's just a single side-game. An honestly, I think it's an interesting experiment.
I'm sorry, the lack of care put into these videos does not make me feel this guy's passion.
I personally would give this game a chance, but at a lower price point of say $20 and if the Silent Hill feel was still there.
Dale and Jim have been long time Silent Hill fans, and they are pretty much
reacting like every other fan of the series, they are not bashing the game.
They are just concerned like everyone else is that this series is going
down the tubes fast.
On topic-
I really wish they would have gone with a complete different direction for this game
it had potential, but now it doesn't even look like it's SH related, this saddens me very much.
But if they're all "It's still going to be scary, but we're not going to focus of scary," then I'm a little worried for the game itself.
Also, let's count the hypocrites. How many commenters here hate what Konami is doing to Silent Hill but still can't understand why Devil May Cry fans are worried and upset over DmC?
Hmmmm?
DmC isn't exactly in the same circumstances. The gameplay is still being developed by the same members of Capcom that made previous DMCs. SH has been tossed over to a completely different developer and from the looks of things now, is changing it's very genre of gameplay.
This is why horror movies kill people off every 10-15mins (or less), it creates suspense no matter how many times we say "saw that coming".
