Signed Devil May Cry Collector's Edition is coming to random stores near you photo

In yet another frustrating but unsurprising case of Japan getting all the cool stuff, a new version of the Devil May Cry 4 Collector's Edition is...wait. Coming to the US? Signed by Kobayashi-San? Packaged in tins for both 360 and PS3? Why yes, it actually is. Don't bother to check your surroundings, Hell hasn't frozen over just yet.

Here's the catch though - these 200 copies will be randomly distributed to retailers, according to the Capcom Unity blog:

"For what I believe is truly a first in our industry, DMC4 producer Kobayashi-san (also producer of Resident Evil 4, nuff said) has personally signed 100 copies of the PS3 and Xbox 360 Collector’s Edition tin by hand. We are now going to reintegrate these signed tins into the game manufacturing line and randomly distribute them across the US to a number of retailers and distributors. It might not be the keys to the candy factory, but it will be a rewarding, personal touch for a few lucky DMC fans."

Wow. Time to go on the hunt! Be sure to blog it if you are able to find one and share it with us. It seems like it will be a very fortunate few who actually obtain these, so good luck to everyone seeking one!

I hope the signature is hidden by the general game packaging or else, I fear, store employees will snatch them all up and sell them on eBay before the real fans can get their hands on them.

I was thinking this would be awesome, but then I realized that Gamestop employees are probably gonna get every copy of these.

Then I died a little on the inside

Yeah, more likely the people who get them won't even notice or care.

Yeah, these are all going to GameStop employees, or eBay. :|

His signature looks pretty easy to forge, so I imagine there will be more than 200 "signed" DMC4s on eBay.

Very cool. Like others have said I have to hope the packaging hides the signatures.

I can't imagine what these will sell for on ebay.
