The fact that this has nothing to do with Snoopy is disheartening, but here it is: Sierra Online has announced that it will be bringing its arcade air-combat title Red Baron Arcade to PlayStation Network on September 18.

The T-rated game puts players in the cockpits of 20 different World War I-era planes, with over 30 missions of dogfights that will have them swooping, dodging, and other things you do when flying in a WW I plane. The game also features multiplayer modes for up to eight players, including original and inspired modes like deathmatch, team-deathmatch, and capture the flag.

No word on cost, but you'll have a chance to check out a demo of Red Baron Arcade -- including multiplayer modes -- which will be available day-and-date with the titles release.

Is anyone as upset that Snoopy isn't involved in this as I am?

Oh sweet! Dog fights are always fun, especially the vintage World War eras. There is something about those propeller planes thats just so charming. I can't wait to see the black smoke trailing behind planes as they plummet to the earth, muwahaha!

Looks like an arcade remake of an old PC flight sim game.

omg sweet! This almost looks like the original Red Baron with updated graphics! This might sound lame...but I almost want a PS3 just so I can play this. Red Baron is one of the best flight sims of all time!

This game desperately needs a soundtrack.

I'm all for realism. But the sound of an engine for hours on end doesn't seem too appealing.

mmmm aerial combat, i remember this game on the PC and it rocked back in the day. Now all i need is a remake of WW2 fighters and i'm happy.

Nick, I was mentally reading Snoopy vs the Red Baron. Greatest dogfighting game for PSP with Woodstock-guided missiles EVER.
