Shred Nebula, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, and Gin Rummy on XBLA this Wednesday photo

Straight off the heels of the Summer of Arcade line-up comes the announcement that three new Xbox LIVE Arcade games are planned for release on Wednesday: Shred Nebula (800 Microsoft Points), Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball (800 Microsoft Points), and Gin Rummy (400 Microsoft Points).

While there are numerous other top-down shooters taking up space on XBLA, Shred Nebula is slightly different in that the focus is primarily on the multiplayer combat. If that descriptor intrigues you, then go watch the trailer -- it does a better job of describing the game than I ever could.

We've already heard quite a bit about Blazing Lizard's Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, so at this point, there's not much else to do besides actually playing the game. If by some reason you don't know about PvND yet, it's zombies, robots, ninjas, and pirates playing dodgeball ... 'nuff said.

Lastly, there's Gin Rummy, which is pretty self-explanatory. There are 6 game modes in all with 4-player online multiplayer and Xbox LIVE Vision support (strip Gin Rummy anyone?).

So ... is anyone else going to be sticking with Castle Crashers this week?

Sorry, Castle Crashers, BCRearmed, Braid, and Geometry Wars 2 are tough acts to follow. Try me again next month Shred.

Can't wait for Shred Nebula. I am totally excited for it. Suppose to take some real skill, unlike other recent games where I just mash X and Y.

Shred Nebula looks awesome. I think I'm gonna be playing that for a long time to come. And I'll just use the points I reserved for Galaga Legions.

I dunno, I've played all 3 of these and didn't like them so much. Not that there was anything wrong with them, just not my types of games. I think I'll get some more levels in CC.

I'll be investing in Dodgeball tomorrow, then go back to playing CC and Mercs 2. I'll try out Gin, but I'm sure it doesn't have local multi (don't know how it could get away with it) and since I don't play online (b/c most people are tools online and I don't want to pay for it.), I will probably be passing on it.

yeh I am going to be picking up Pirates VS Ninjas for sure, I have had my eye on it for a while, and when I hear they added the new game modes, it made me really excited. Plus, it is Pirates and Ninjas, how much cooler does that get?
