While work is being done on Serious Sam 3: BFE, a few indie studios are tackling the franchise in their own unique ways. In the case of developer Mommy's Best Games, they're putting out a downloadable PC and console title called Serious Sam: Double D. The side-scrolling Contra-like game sees Sam doing what he does best as he takes on ridiculous amounts of enemies all at once on his killing rampage. What makes Double D really rad is the Gunstacker weapon, which equips all of your guns at once so you can shoot everything off at the same time. Best weapon ever?!
