Well, it doesn't say it outright, but that's certainly the implication.
On the surface of it, the video merely depicts a duel of honor between a samurai of the Takeda clan (the four-diamond crest on red is unmistakable) and a sohei warrior-monk (likely from the Uesugi clan), but those last moments at the end clearly notes the true message of the trailer: The guys in the castle are assholes who shoot winning dudes in the damn back.
Then again, maybe the Takeda guy had it coming, because he forgot to bow before turning his back. I guess that would make them even.
There's not a lot of gameplay information in there, but you can of course check out my hands-on preview for that.
Hey, it's Samurai Warriors. Only it doesn't look like a carnival. And there's actual reliance on thought processes to get through.
On a side note, the first Shogun stands as one of my most beloved strategy games of all times. It's almost depressing how much of a certainty the quality of this game is. I miss being all "oh no, you don't mess with mah franchise boy".
Creative Assembly does things consistantly and amazingly well, as long as you don't care all that much for competitive play.
WHY DON'T I HAVE A GOOD COMPUTER I HATE MY LIFE I WANT THIS SO MUUUUCCHHH!
Listen, I have a computer from 2002 with only integrated video. It can run Age of Empires 1 and 2, Age of Mythology pretty poorly, and all the Half-Life 1s. Do you guys think I'd be able to run Shogun 1 on it?
This reminds me of my days as a Samurai warlord in Japan. It all ended when I knifed Tokyo on an atlas and then the atlas was actually a grenade in disguise. Luckily I had flash powder and a submarine chair.
@getroramer I don't think that segment was meant to be all that accurate, seeing as it wasn't really where they were fighting, so give 'em a break, sheesh.
1 vs. 100 for Xbox 360 was a delight, plain and simple. I know I'm not the only one who would like to see it return or, at the very least, see Microsoft introduce more game shows that tap into the Xbox Live user base.

Backbone Entertainment once pitched a reboot of Streets of Rage to SEGA, which SEGA apparently rejected, because SEGA hates everybody. Artist Arvin Bautista is keeping the dream alive, however, by sharing concept art cre...
Here is your reminder that Ghost of a Tale may very well be the most darkly adorable game in creation -- if it ever bloody gets the funding! In case you've forgotten, it's a game by a former Pixar animator, and it stars a mo...

I like the Heroes of Might & Magic series, but it has never been perfect. It's a very niche set of games that aren't quite role-playing titles or full-fledged strategy games. They are almost their own weird hybrid ge...more
