In an absolutely groundbreaking move, Sony has declared that it has a better line-up of games this year than Microsoft! Stop the presses! Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss David Reeves made the claim, and promised that the PlayStation 3 has a "really good Christmas coming up."
It can't be denied that the black box o' Blu-ray is finally bringing its big guns to the console war, as Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet all draw their battle lines. They will of course be going up against the Xbox 360's own arsenal that will include Gears of War 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Fable 2. Reeves missed an excellent poo joke by not stating that the 360's line-up is full of number twos.
Reeves has also stated that the PS3 will "probably" have DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV as well, in an attempt to remove that particular feather from Microsoft's cap. He also suggested that Microsoft paid such a high price for GTA's DLC because it was "the last shot they had." He seems very confident that something is coming to PS3 fans eventually; "I'm honestly not going to make any comment on that because it's too big a thing to... we can make an announcement when we make an announcement."
After the PR disaster that was Sony in 2007, it can't be denied that 2008 is certainly looking up for the company. What do you guys think? Does the PS3's line-up of games make your pants wetter, or will it have to do more to make the rough n' tumble adventures of Marcus Fenix and his steroid injectin' pals look like sh*t?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm personally more interested in titles that have already released like Uncharted and R&C. Maybe that's just me, though.
If you go to that link, you’ll see that I agree with Mr. Reeves. There never was, and currently isn’t, too much 360-exclusive stuff that piques my interest.
What this amounts to is Dtoid acting as a conduit for Sony's advertising campaign....
thanks but I would expect this kind of thing to be in popup form not story form.
I would have thought if it was 'the last shot Microsoft had', they would have made certain Sony didn't get there hands on it for a while yet.
The only things that seem different about them are their Online Service and Hardware Reliability.
I get the hint. Added a link. :-)
Also, once again -- to everyone who laughed at my notion of the Xbox Exodus, heed my prophecy well!
The only title that I believe will knock my socks off on the 360 camp is Alan Wake.
If 360 gets exclusivity to Dead Rising 2, oh shhiiiiiittttt
Sony is never on the same page these days. Outside of MGS4 and maybe LBP, they're still slackin.
Don't think a FF7 remake has been announced yet, and besides, why remake a perfect game?
I don't know about the beta, but the game is coming out in October.
Little Big Planet adds to the potential disappointment.
MGS4 doesn't do anything.
As for that exodus, Jim, I'm not ready to fully jump over into the Sony camp just yet. I'm certainly a lot closer than I ever have been, though.
Socom: Confrontation,
That New Siren,
Resistance 2, its a pretty damn good co op game,
MGS4/MGO,
Home, oddly enough
Dragonball Z Burst Limit and that New Naruto, they seem like they could be unique fighters,
The Agency (so-so) at least to see what its about.
Killzone 2 is still part of the fiscal 2008 lineup as well.
Motorstorm, I might actually try this game finally if they have a demo otherwise no.
Valkyrie which I'm looking forward to above all others.
White Knight as well I'm definately looking forward to that one if it comes out this 2008.
Theres a couple more but I'm not to sure if they are coming out 2008.
I like Ninja Gaiden and Metal Gear solid but I'm not STOKED about them. There's absolutely nothing I want on the Wii either. I mostly want DS games.
Is something wrong with me? Or are we in a game drought?
I get to play Too Human next month, and more good games will follow for the 360. The only reason im keeping my ps3 is because of metal gear solid 4, and im not even a big fan of the series.
Yeah all PS3 games are the same. 360 is wayyy better(moar circles). Ninja Gaiden and Gears of War so good and unique. Nothing like Devil May Cry or shootan games.
@Luigi Takes Over
It sounds like you'll be disappointed with TES V.
Yep. Every 360 game worth playing ends up on PC(and/or PS3) enhanced & with more content(except Dead Rising). So yeah. I'm happy with the PC, PS3, & Wii. Although I do love my 360 for Ikaruga and Halo 3. Too bad it freezes/breaks ever 5 fucking days. I don't even bother to pay MS to repair it. It's not worth it. I'm sure Gears 2 will a barrel of fun, but I won't NEED it for myself.

Now if only Sony would get their online shit together. Or at least ban anyone from even thinking about using gamespy in PS3 games.
Oh yeah, because Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 are such ground breaking FPSs. Shut the fuck up you Sony hack.
gears 2... enh... ninja gaiden 2... I still haven't beaten the first one.
mgs4... yes times 1000, resistance 2, again yes times 1000, and little big planet could be good, could be shit...
alls I know is... looks like I won't be buying a ton of games this year...
Here's some advice...
Buy all three systems, and STFUAJPG.
I don't care why your dick gets hard for Sony/Microsoft/and god forbid Nintendo. There are more pressing issues to be arguing.
Shit if people were half as offended about the state of Democracy in America as they were about Killzone 2 renders, then there would be a good shot at achieving change.
Instead, most people would rather stroke their dicks to the latest **insert your favorite game here** screen shots, and threaten people's lives because they don't agree with their taste in leisurely activities.
