Our inbox has been absolutely inundated with hot videos showing PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES in VIDEOGAMES! Because of course, we're not all sick to death of hearing the names "Obama" and "Palin" over and over again. Oh, and that other guy who nobody cares about because he's just an old white guy.

God, it's always so fresh and exciting to find out what those wacky gamers have put Obama in next. You never know what game he'll pop up in, and it's always so hilarious to see the same generic black man in a suit that has been cobbled together using character creation tools.

Obama/Palin in Spore! Obama/Palin in Wii Sports! Obama/Palin in Second Life. Oh the sheer brilliance of it all. I really wish I could post all the jawdropping videos of presidential candidates in videogames, but I might stab my own eyes out with a dog's cock ... out of sheer comedy overload, of course.

As a side note, don't forget to vote today! You OWE it to the country! Your forefathers FOUGHT and DIED on the CROSS for your RIGHT to VOTE! You should all vote for Obama because he's on TV a lot and he's really trendy. Yes, society has reached the point where even politicians can and will be used as fashion statements! But just remember that this election, just like the last one, is the most important election of all time.

So go vote and pretend that you give a sh*t about politics for just one day. Remember, when the election's over, everything will be totally different.

More like: your forefathers fought and died and killed British infidels so that the current generation can vote a muslim CJ into office.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, does sarcasm like Jimothy Sterling.

That being said, I'm voting for the Ba-lack Oh-bomb-us today, because I like the idea of having a muslim terrorist for president.

Now I'll finally get to see how the other half lives (meaning the other countries who are run by religious fanatics and are addicted to an oil based economy).

What's annoying is that our countries future could be decided on the young idiots out there that have been targeted to vote. They can't spell, can't type, don't know anything and they are allowed to vote and determine who becomes president?

It is scary.

Phew. The bitterness of it all.

I'm just celebrating the marked end of Bush. Nothing political. I'm just tired of his face.

oh my fucking god jim you are such an arrogant hypocritical fat fucker it sickens me

"hey guys politics dont matter lol HOLY SHIT SOMEONE DOESNT LIKE VIDEO GAMES STOP THE FUCKING PRESSES"

i dont think you really understand the cultural significance of a black candidate, much less president (because i mean come on does anyone honestly believe that mccain will win even if you think he is the better candidate); america had a pretty modern tradition of racism for a civilized country, and though it wasnt so pronounced as it was in other places (sup brazil), slavery still wasnt abolished for a pretty damn long time, again, especially for a civilized country

whether you like it or not, it shows a fuckload of forward social progression that someone, who when he was born wouldnt be able to drink out of the same fucking fountain as you, could be elected king of the free world (spoilers: america is still top dog in the global marketplace and everywhere else is its bitch; look at the current strength of the dollar and everyone elses shitty economy!)

also i dig the part about pretending that politics are irrelevant, considering you are a video game journalist

ill just let that one sink in on its own

video game journalist

also, before you mark me as some lunatic obama supporter or crazy patriotic dickbutt, im a canadian national in america on a student visa

go back to being insignificant and get bent, douche

OMG SOCIAL PROGRESS WE'RE SO PROGRESSIVE!

The amount people have been up their own asses about this is phenomenal. The smugness is thick enough to choke most of LA.

If you want a black president because you agree with him great. Don't pontificate about electing a black president for its own sake, though. That'd make about as much sense as affirmative action. Voting for or against someone JUST because they're black or white is still racism.

Douche.

Since you obviously need to be sat down and have the joke explained to you, this post is a comment on the way people are making a big deal out of how they voted like it makes them better people for pretending to give a shit about politics for one day.

And the dollar is still down below a few other nations in the first-world, as well. Let's not pretend 1) we're not in financial clusterfuckery and 2) inflation doesn't exist, mkay? And why the whole "hurrrr, we're the biggest world power" shit came up, I don't honestly get. I don't care if we're bigger than Christ or the last to know anything that goes on in the world - joke is, everyone gets completely political and "involved" on ONE DAY (paying lip service for months ahead of time), and after someone's elected, they'll either spend all of their time complaining about them, or go back to not giving a shit for another four years.

I hear "this is the most important election" every four years. Kind of that whole 'boy who cried wolf' thing by now.

also this is still the most socially important election that has ever happened; besides that, did you realize that things can progress? holy shit, alien fucking concept, right? i mean, if this car was billed as the fastest car ever when they made it in nineteen tickity two, why isnt it the fastest anymore?!

Uh, well, being someone that actually cares about politics all the time, and not for just one day, your post came off as a bit ignorant. Even if it was funny as hell. I do agree, that this is "socially" significant, having a black candidate. But people shouldn't be voting for someone just because he's black. And you shouldn't NOT be voting for McCain cause he's another old white guy. I hope people can actually look at the issues, and make up there own mind, but I doubt it.

Two:

Thank you for not being a dick, and least you found it funny. :-)

To answer you, I believe in voting, and I have an interest in the politics of both America and the UK, especially as they are closely linked. My article was not intended to diminish the importance of any election, but to highlight the stupid way in which people turn it into a circus and another opportunity to be fashionable.

You can't deny that Obama has been paraded around like an iPod by many people. It's yet another form of social identity that people use to cover up their own lack of personality. I've found the campaign, especially from Obama people (and I'm not anti-Obama, I think both candidates are ineffectual and shallow) has been incredibly obnoxious.

I'll just be glad to see the end of it.
