Shock: Smash Bros. dominates UK sales charts photo

Proving that games companies can do whatever they want to Europe and get away with it, the British people have bent over and received a big fat rogering from Nintendo now that it's finally decided to grace us with Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Brawl sits comfortably at the top spot of the sales chart, with other Wii titles such as Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii joining it in the top ten. The top ten rundown is as follows:

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl [Wii]
2. Battlefield: Bad Company [Xbox 360]
3. Wii Fit [Wii]
4. Big Beach Sports [Wii]
5. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots [PS3]
6. Mario Kart Wii [Wii]
7. Battlefield: Bad Company [PS3]
8. Wii Play [Wii]
9. Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training [DS]
10. Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures [DS]

Nintendo, as with everywhere else, has nothing to worry about in Europe. Of course, this proves that the business model works, so I wouldn't expect the almighty N to give a stuff about timely release dates in Europe anytime soon. Meanwhile, Guns of the Patriots does decently for itself, and the Xbox 360 has nothing worth buying lately. Go figure.

Bad company is doing well. Not as well as brain training though, how wmuch cash has this baby injected into Nintendo, simply genius.
New UK 360 owners should be looking at play.com.
Halo 3. Gears of War. Crackdown all Fifteen Quid, you cannot argue with that.

I forgot it was out, just picked it up today. I haven't played much yet as much of my excitement has faded. I'm sure I'll get into it though. It was only 45 euro in a retail shop, thats as much as DS games over here. Kinda makes them seem overpriced. >.>

Not surprising but it's still sad to see :-( Looks like we'll be getting raped by Nintendo for a while yet.

At least I can live with myself knowing that I'm protesting with my wallet by not buying Brawl at least for the next few weeks

Meh I was nearly going to pay full whack for a Wii to play this (way back in 2007 when I gave a toss), then the delay happened and frankly I got stung and payed full whack for a GameCube that I could now get for about £40 - £60 with a couple of good games. So I'm just going to wait for that to happen with the Wii.

There's still hope. Maybe by next week the sales will plummet drastically.

Rogering is now a word in the colonies.

I'll make it one if I have to die doing it.

I had forgotten about Brawl since all the hype is dead and gone.

Also, why is Big Beach Sports above MGS4? I know the Wii has attracted a lot of casual gamers, but I didn't think that there was that much.

I see about two ads for big beach sports every morning and none for brawl. Since its been heavily advertised its not that surprising the casual wii crowd have gone for it

I bet if there were no adverts this wouldn't even be in top ten. Stupid casual gamers. Why is beah sports above casual gamers? BECUASE I SEE IT EVERY TEN FUCKING SECONDS ON EVERY CHANNEL.
I dont understand why game companies like bad company dont advertise o TV. They'd earn millions as every £1 in advertising earns at LEAST £2.67 in sales.
