Shivering Isles finally getting Xbox 360 retail disc photo

Heads up to the four people who read Destructoid and own an Xbox 360 who do not  have it connected to Xbox Live: Bethesda Softworks have announced that Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles will finally be getting a retail disc!

The disc (which ships this October) will feature the same content that was available on Xbox Live months ago -- 30 hours of new gameplay, including new items, new ingredients, spells, and more. To sweeten the deal, the retail disc will also include all of the Knights of the Nine content.

No word yet on Shivering Isles content hitting the PlayStation 3, but hang tight Bethesda's Pete Hines assures Destructoid that they're looking into it. Hines also reminded us that Prima will be releasing a new and updated Oblivion guide that will cover all content to date; the guide will span 496 pages.

I've never had enough MS Points to afford this online since I purchase points cards and not my credit card. Now I can actually buy it in cold hard cash like my momma taught me to.

I don't have it. I don't have enough money to get it either.

Actually, this isn't just good for people who don't have Live. I want Shivering Isles, and I'll gladly take a version that reserves precious Hard Drive space. This gets a thumbs up from me.

I am one of those five but it's only because the jack in my parents basement stopped working. I have to buy a really long chord or wireless hook up. It'll happen soon.

Yes I live with my parents. I needed money! Don't judge me you bastards!

Guys -- the game has a "Hard Drive Required" mark on the box. You'll likely install the game to the HD, and then the disc will be required to boot it up.

Hmm. It's pretty cool that they did this. All depends on price though.

I'm going to get clarification from Bethesda for you guys, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. Either way, yay!

If you have to have this disc in to boot it then how would it load anything in vanilla oblivion? Just a thought.

Shouldn't this be a freebie of some kind by now? I mean, isn't the content included for free in the PS3 version?

umm, I don't have live right now, only because of the unusual idea of having my 360 NOT in the basement. I need wireless card.....

Better value in that it includes the Knights of the Nine content too. Hopefully we will hear on pricing soon. I agree with Chester in that most likely you will have to copy the content to your HD. Now that I bought Bioshock, I can delete the 1.3 gig demo. More space, more space. Seriously, the 120 HD better price drop soon . If I keep buying up games to "free" up HD space, I'm in trouble ...

hmmm.... well how would this work? Do I use the expansion to install SI and not use the Oblivion disc or I'm able to install this to all my friends with oblivion? Unless this has some sort of key which i doubt cause it defeats the need to print a disc.

Im dumb.

What happened to the GoTY version of Oblivion I was holding out for???

Curious. The GOTY edition is allegedly out this month on the PS3, 360 and PC. This will include Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine presumably on one disc. If I was still holding out for any of the expansions I would rather buy this for an extra few quid rather than a standalone disc of shivering isles and Knights of the Nine. Also the GOTY edition looks like it's the only way to play Shivering Isles on the PS3

Hey guys. I confirmed with Pete Hines that the game will install like the DLC, so there's no saving hard drive space. The amount required is clearly marked on the box.

I think it's cool they're releasing them on disc. I'll buy it way later on when it's cheaper and I can find it online, and not have to worry about using hd space.
