Shin Megami Tensei panel announced for Anime Expo 2008 photo

Fans of Atlus and the Shin Megami Tensei series alike would likely enjoy this recently announced panel about the RPG series, being hosted by Atlus at the Anime Expo this July. Even more tantalizing, the attendance is limited to 500 and attendees will receive a special gift. Argh ... I'll bet it's some kind of toy related to the Shin Megami Tensei games. I feel myself squirming with preemptive jealousy.

SMT voice actors Yuri Lowenthal and Karen Straussman will be present, along with Senior Project Manager Yu Namba and veteran Editor Nich Maragos. to look back over the history of the Shin Megami Tensei series, including localization challenges. I love this series and would get a huge kick out of attending, but I won't be anywhere near Los Angeles for the Expo. Perhaps I will get fortunate enough to hear about it from our friends at Japanator?

Damn, all I can say to that is, YOU LUCKY YANK BASTARDS!!

SMT is replacing FF as my favourite rpg series. I also have much love for Atlus for Trauma Centre.

I expect a full report on this, Dtoid. Don't disappoint me.

I hate where I live. I WANT BONUSES STUFF! Where I live I don't get crap. Only bonuses I can get are from preordering stuff.

How weird, I just got my invite to this event. Right when I read this article, and I'm not sure if I can make it, even though I live in Las Vegas.... kind of off putting.

If anyone goes, can you request Atlus USA leaves out "-tan, -chan, -san, -kun, & -senpai" for Persona 4? What would have been an utterly marvelous localization for Persona 3 was marred by sheer weeaboo fanservice that really set it back.

...or they left it in because it's a Japanese game set in Japan in a Japanese highschool. That could be it, yes.

I for one loved the -tan, -chan, -san, -kun, & -senpai. Seeing as how it took place in japan it seemed entirely fitting to me. Anywho.... I got the email too, it's a shame I live so damned far away from it....

@Novakaine:
This is just based on my experience, but Persona 3 never seems to let you forget you're playing a game. Why not go through the trouble to remind you that the game isn't set in America?
