Shenmue fans to mass-mail Sega capsule toys photo

Don't get me wrong: I loved Shenmue and its sequel. I was always a Sega kid, and it was a thrill playing both of these titles, weird stretched texture faces and all. And yes, I would love to play a game of Lucky Hit with you.

But give it up, guys. Sega is not going to give us all the last game of the "trilogy." They're too busy f*cking up Sonic games to do that. As much as I'd love to see a third title come out, it probably isn't happening, and you sending a sh*t ton of capsule toys their way isn't going to change their mind.

Regardless of what I think, Shenmue fans are proceeding with the mass-mailing of toy capsules to Sega in hopes that a huge pile of toys (and accompanying requests) will weigh heavily on their minds. The official MySpace page of this project gives crazed fans everything they need to toy-bomb Sega. The whole thing kicks off on Nov. 27th (Dreamcast's anniversary) and ends on Dec. 29th (Shenmue's 9th anniversary).

Aw, f*ck it. I have some extra gashapon lying around. I'll send one, too. What could it hurt? Maybe Sega could melt them all down and make a huge plastic Shenmue-themed statue or something. I think that's more likely than a new game, but you never know.

No lie, Shenmue was the first and only game that I actually fell asleep while playing. All this stupid talk about have you seen the men in the black car or whatever it was, I couldnt get much further than that before I succumbed to the sweet sweet dreams induced by this very boring game. That said, I really wanted to like the game, I just couldnt stay awake long enough to enjoy it.

All I want is for Sega to tell me if they know anywhere where sailors hang out. I just gotta know.

This is a rather unusual form of protest, even for Sega fans. I have no idea what message they hope to communicate with this gesture.

@The-Excel: They're doing the thing Jerico fans did when it got canceled. They sent CBS peanuts until they brought the show back. It worked... until it got canceled again. Haha.

It's worth a try.

Starmen.net sent NoA a giant scrapbook of Mother info, a true labor of love.

What did they get? A tiny blurb in Nintendo power followed by a teaser in the next month page that ended up being a joke.

But hey, if these people want to waste their money they can go right ahead.

I'm pretty sure if Sega actually did make another Shenmue game, people will only bitch and complain about how shitty it is compared to the other games in the series.

Shenmue is freaking sweet, and any form of another game or story or such would be greatly appreciated . . . with that said, just think about how there's at least something for Beyond Good & Evil 2 . . . all I have to say is . . .

Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling

I loved this game... when I had never played a console based game before... I played Shenmue on the Dreamcast at night when everyone was sleeping... I played this through once more because I couldn't forget the feeling it gave me... I felt as if I was in that world... as though nothing else mattered, and the only thing that mattered was just being in that world, the game just felt so peaceful, I can't even explain the feeling it gave me. I played the second one and now I am waiting for my third one... No matter how long it takes, I will wait for it. I plan on not buying any sega games before they release the third.
Though it didn't make money... All that matters is tat the game affected my life greatly... and millions of others lives, even if all games aren't art, this game was art.
HECK I actually mailed Yu Suzuki after playing this game, and this game gave me the dream of becoming a game producer like him.
Please... give us the third one please.

Anyone not see that they're being hosed here? People who collect gashapons are OBSESSED with these things (Lord knows I am/was...).

If you send them anything, whoevers in charge of this is just going to keep them. KEEP THEM. No weeaboo is strong enough to avoid the call of free plastic toys from Japan to not keep them all for himself.

You peoples is gettin' PLAYED!

@dvddesign

How does he plan on keeping them when your sending them directly to sega of japan's offices. Is he gonna sit outside and jump the courier when he delivers the packages?

It's always nice to hear that other people love the Shenmue games, it usually receives so much hate.

I would love to see a third game, but it seems so unlikely.

I did like that game. I love that it was supposed to be 12 parts when they started the first one and now we are fighting only for a 3rd one.
