Multiplayer gaming has always been as much about talking trash as the gaming itself. The above video, a multiplayer trailer for Ubisoft’s Shaun White Snowboarding, is no different. In it, you can see four gamers by the names of Tramor, CPAJackson, Mus0ka, and DoktorNaud duking it out on the side of a snowy mountain. One of them is Australian -- perhaps he’s related to FooLiz!

The back-and-forth banter is actually pretty funny, especially the following boast from the Australian: “You’re on! Kiss your cash goodbye, kiss your wife goodbye, kiss your house goodbye, kiss your car goodbye -- I’m takin’ it all.” As for the game itself, it seems like four-player competitive snowboarding action could be a lot of fun, and the visuals are top-notch (except for the walking animation, which looks rather weak -- though it’s not as bad as what you see in the third-person view of Fallout 3). Either way, it’s no SSX, but I think it’ll do for now.

Shaun White Snowboarding utilizes the “Scimitar” engine from Assassin’s Creed, and the title will be out for all the platforms you can think of (PS3, 360, Wii [with Balance Board support!], PS2, PSP, DS, and PC) on November 16th. Be sure to check out its official Web site for more details. If you’re still thirsty for information afterward, then you can hit up a previous post with a different trailer (and screens) or Hamza’s preview from May.

@ galagabug

It does look like fun but I snowboard IRL, so this is a no go for me.

dude Galaga, I got to preview this game and I loved it. I might be picking it up.

Also, I had to giggle a little because of the trailer on the website. The lobby of the building they run into is the same building as where the preview was held. Tee hee.

This looks pretty badass... I'll wait for the reviews and such, but as long as they're decent I'm in.

I'll get it after a substantial price drop. Maybe in the summer when I'm wishing I could be snowboarding in real life.
