We haven't heard much about the upcoming PS3 title Metal Gear Online since it was first announced last month, but now some new shaky-cam footage of the game in action has made its way onto the internet.
GameVideos sent us a clip from Gamer.tv showing the first publicly shown footage of the game, letting us scope out some multiplayer team play action.
The Konami rep in the video tells us about a game play system that encourages you to link up with your team mates, which allows you to share information, location, and battle condition. He goes on to explain about an example where an opponent was captured and and his "nanomachine" was hacked, giving access to all of the opposing team's information. Very interesting.

I'm a little confused about MGO. Is this part of MGS4, the same way that MGS3 and MGS:PO (PSP) had an online game included, or is this a completely separate game?
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online are two separate games.
Apparently Kojima found a way to fill up all 30GB of a Blu-ray disc with MGS4.
You know with all those exciting 30 minute cut-scenes and lossless audio.
I think that Kojima's ego has gone to his head. I mean the guy's around 44 years old. I doubt that at that age he can tell the difference between uncompressed audio and well compressed HD-audio or ogg-vorbis even.
I hope Konami's not planing on selling both games for 60 big ones a pop.
You know that games like Halo 3 or Gears of War could not get away with doing this. But somehow Sony fanboys are going to forgive Kojima because they have nothing else to play.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Eat it, psybunny. :)

sounds like SOMEONE is mad that he doesnt get to play MGS4. wah wah wah waaaaaaaaaaah
No, I'm angry that I have to have to pay twice to have a full game on my next-gen Blu-Ray Drive from Sony.
Can't the Blu-ray have multiple layers?
You know 2 layers of 30GB each so that the Disc sold 60GB?
Kind of how DVD9's are dual-layered so they hold 8.5 Gigs instead of the 4.7 Gigs that typical DVD5's hold?
Maybe it's only 20 bucks off PSN, cheaper if you have a code with your MGS4 purchase?
No one knows yet.
Don't get yer damn panties in a bunch.
