Shake it, baby: 3D Realms hopes to bring Duke Nukem to XBLA photo

In a recent chat thread over at Shacknews, 3D Realms' George Broussard expressed interest in developing an Xbox 360 Live Arcade version of Duke Nukem ... pending Microsoft's approval.

"Truth be told, we've talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it," he wrote. "Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue."

Broussard refused further comment, but confirmed the accuracy of the statements with Shacknews. With Duke Nukem Forever seeming less and less like a reality as the industry's collective high wears off, this might be the best chance fans have to cap a LARD officer in HD.

So it's like the free homebrew Duke 3Dx for the xbox1, but then for 800-1000 MSP on the 360. With the option to get sick while playing at 60fps?

there's no way they'd release Duke 3d in its original format..something tells me we wont see nude strippers and women getting raped by tantacles on anything but PC.

By Duke Nuken, do they mean the original side scroller platform/shooter? Because I remember that game being awesome when I was six years old.

Probably. That's what I imagine anyway. Notice how they didn't specify Duke Nukem 3D. I'm guessing they mean the original sidescrollers. They'll most likely release Duke Nukem 1 and 2.

Duke nukem 3d right?

I don't want the old side scroller.

If they do bring this out, the should bring out Duke Caribbean as downloadable content. That would be awesome.

God i miss Duke. But not in a gay way. More like in the way of I miss looking at half naked boobies, before the net was known for porn and Duke Nukem was the only way to see nudity.

Actually they did, QFT:

Little has been heard about the legendary Duke Nukem Forever recently, but Duke series developer 3D Realms does want to bring its classic 1996 shooter Duke Nukem 3D to Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade.

why can't the ps3 get some of this love. i mean seriously, wouldn't having it on both systems make them more money...?

i would accept the side scrollers, but 3d was a blast to play, even if i had to not play it when my mother was around. [;
