Fans of Japanese action/horror games -- and, uh, quirky insanity -- are likely awaiting Shadows of the Damned with bated breath. The Grasshopper Manufacture-developed title, built by the dream-team collaboration of executive director Suda51 (No More Heroes), creative producer Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil), and composer Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill), is due out on June 7th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
That seems far away, so to tide you over until then, we've got a new trailer from the 2011 Game Developers Conference. It shows off more gameplay footage, and further outlines the basic plot: you play as Garcia Hotspur, a demon hunter, who takes it upon himself to rescue his true love from the depths of hell. You will kick and kill lots of things along the way. Oh, and she keeps showing up everywhere. Isn't that sweet?
Check back later today for a full preview from me, as well as a video interview that Hamza did at GDC with Suda 51 himself.
