You have to give it up for Activision's marketing department, it's really getting some attention for Bizarre Creations' Blur. The upcoming racing game first grabbed attention with last week's Mario Kart mockery, and this week has done seen the arrival of two French commercials that ought to get European eyes moving.
The new ads show off the game's power-ups, undoubtedly an important part of any game trying to be a grown-up Mario Kart. If you can stop looking at the barely dressed French girls for long enough, you'll get to see them in action.
With a deluge of hot looking racing games both on the market and coming up, Blur has its work cut out for it. Are any of you looking forward to it, or has another racing game caught your eye?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Not a big racer guy myself, but GT5 will certainly get my purchase and ModNation is a definite maybe.
:)
Women.
Possibly free.
I am actually quite excited for Blur, especially as I felt a bit disappointed in Split/Second (just feels so repetitive in it's gameplay with the same stuff happening every time I play) and got a kick out of it's mixture of Mario Kart & Destruction Derby. I played hours of the beta - and just couldn't stop playing it.
One thing that's pretty bad is I've seen virtually no reviews of it ANYWHERE so Split/Second is just getting all the glory. It almost feels like they're trying to pull a Rock Band on us with it's lack of hype.
The controllers weren't even switched on
So I guess you enjoy the commercial. Fuck the game, what matters is that it has 4 girls in tight t shirts doing ridiculous poses and pretending they ever played a game in their lives.
But seriously...I'd hit it. Oh and Blur rocks.
Things that pander to the fact that I have a penis.
That's swell.
Sixaxis, you are my new best friend.
And yeah, the controllers were off. That makes this ad even...better?
Sigh.. for shame.
And Mildpooptastic, I'm with you, realistic racing games are SO BORING, I prefeer to get a real car and drive to the next city instead of playing any Gran Turismo.
Blur looks like an excellent idea, TOO BAD it's comingo around the same months as Modnation racer, Split/second and NFS World.
That would be the only selling point that would make me buy this garbage...
