You have to give it up for Activision's marketing department, it's really getting some attention for Bizarre Creations' Blur. The upcoming racing game first grabbed attention with last week's Mario Kart mockery, and this week has done seen the arrival of two French commercials that ought to get European eyes moving.

The new ads show off the game's power-ups, undoubtedly an important part of any game trying to be a grown-up Mario Kart. If you can stop looking at the barely dressed French girls for long enough, you'll get to see them in action.

With a deluge of hot looking racing games both on the market and coming up, Blur has its work cut out for it. Are any of you looking forward to it, or has another racing game caught your eye?

Modnation and Split/second pretty much cover me for the rest of the year, as far as I'm concerned.

Where are all the reviews for this game? Smells fishy...

Mod Nation and (fingers crossed) GT5 should have me set for racers.

Not a big racer guy myself, but GT5 will certainly get my purchase and ModNation is a definite maybe.

Ladies, ladies. It's a racing game, not a button-masher.

Women.

The combination of Split/Second, a slightly dissapointing beta and a horrible ad campaign have confirmed I don't need this game until it's very, very cheap.

Possibly free.

Pretty sure those controllers were turned off. The whole ad just got invalid

This is an insult to gamers. The girls are fine and all, but its insulting to me that they would think "HMM, WHAT DO GAMERS LIKE? THATS RIGHT, BOOBS, LETS DRESS SOME SLUTS WITH BLUR T-SHIRTS AND CALL IT ADVERTISEMENT!"

Aah, Activision. What else can you do to make a mess of games?

I am actually quite excited for Blur, especially as I felt a bit disappointed in Split/Second (just feels so repetitive in it's gameplay with the same stuff happening every time I play) and got a kick out of it's mixture of Mario Kart & Destruction Derby. I played hours of the beta - and just couldn't stop playing it.

One thing that's pretty bad is I've seen virtually no reviews of it ANYWHERE so Split/Second is just getting all the glory. It almost feels like they're trying to pull a Rock Band on us with it's lack of hype.

@Prostate Punch

So I guess you enjoy the commercial. Fuck the game, what matters is that it has 4 girls in tight t shirts doing ridiculous poses and pretending they ever played a game in their lives.

I would have preferred to see more of the game and less of the girls. Too much lipstick on a pig.

Know what I love?

Things that pander to the fact that I have a penis.

That's swell.

So much for my naive belief that all french girls were classy. Those look just like the plastic strippers we engineer here in the states.

I'd make fun of the fact they were waving the controllers all over and say nobody does that, but my wife tilts the controller around ALL THE TIME in Katamari and Racing games. It must be some innate idea that tilting the thing makes it turn better.
Sixaxis, you are my new best friend.
And yeah, the controllers were off. That makes this ad even...better?

Look how much fun they're having just mashing random buttons and ineffectually tilting the controller. Imagine how awesome a time they'd have if they were actually playing the game!

I love how that girls play Wii.

And Mildpooptastic, I'm with you, realistic racing games are SO BORING, I prefeer to get a real car and drive to the next city instead of playing any Gran Turismo.

Blur looks like an excellent idea, TOO BAD it's comingo around the same months as Modnation racer, Split/second and NFS World.

I loved the overacting french girls, but the game looks retarded. If I want fantasy karting , i play CTR or MK, not a ridge racer with power-ups. Silly game is silly.

That would be the only selling point that would make me buy this garbage...
