The Official Xbox 360 Magazine was kind enough to send over this hilarious clip from a video of a UK Guitar Hero III launch party gone terribly wrong.
Johnny Rotten, singer for the Sex Pistols, was paid to help promote the game at Activision's launch party event, but he started off by bashing the game instead. "It's rubbish, I hate the whole thing."
The surly rocker continues to insult the product he's paid to promote by saying "What I like is it weren't teaching you how to be a rock star, it was teaching you how not to be a rock star..."
Sadly, that's about all he said about Guitar Hero III, and the rest of the time on stage was spent ranting about everything but the music game. He finally rounds things out as the worst celebrity guest promoter ever by shouting "I AM ENGLAND" into a crowd of game journos that had to be looking at their watches and heading toward the door by then.
Kudos to OXM's for the inclusion of a "swear counter" in the video, which hits nearly one-hundred by the end of the clip.

Sex Pistols were always shit.
I actually like the Pistols, they changed music whether you like it or not. But yes, Johnny Rotten is notorious for being douchey. The complete opposite of Joe Strummer if you will.

Johnny Rotten is not an idiot, he is a clever guy who constantly takes the piss, that IS the point of Johnny Rotten, when things get too self congratulatory and pretentious, characters like Johnny Rotten are essential. People who think he's an idiot tend to take themselves and life too seriously.

That's what happens when rockers get old. It's not pretty. That's why they should accept the necessary ending for the path they've chosen and simply overdose/shoot themselves/be shot by someone else/get hit by a car at a young age. Christ, imagine if Kurt Cobain was 60 years old? Or what it'd be like if Jimi Hendrix was still around? It'd be depressing.
For that matter, John Lydon did all his best work with PiL, but there wasn't much money in being a soft-spoken, dub fan with emotions and the like, so he went back to being 'Rotten.'

That is not bashing Guitar Hero at all. It is PROMOTING Guitar Hero. It's a bash on Hollywood, Stars and the whole "Fame & Fortune" dream... and not on Guitar Hero. Fame & Fortune IS a joke.
