Several Modern Warfare 2 fixes are coming photo

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2s multi component has been getting attention of late for all the wrong reasons. Seedy people with too much time on their hands have dug up numerous ways to abuse the game -- from infinite ammo to the XP system. But the MW2 crew are aware, and even better, plan to address some of these recent bugs with fixes.

At least, according to Robert Bowling they are. In a recent tweet, the community man shot out a list of bugs being squashed: “Update in ‘Test’ now: 1887s Balanced. Public ‘private’ match fix. Ammo fix. Prestige hack (PS3) fix. Texture hack on PC fix.”

We aren’t surprised that a shooter as popular as MW2 is being exploited, nor are we surprised that Infinity Ward seems dedicated to fixing them -- we’re just simply glad they’re willing to address issues to quickly. Keep it up.

I saw the tweet and nearly cried tears of joy that the 1887s were being balanced.

Seems fine on my PS3, still fixes are always a good thing.

Shame I'm too busy playing the Bad Company 2 beta right now, maybe I'll jump back into MW2 for a month or so between BC2 beta and MAG release, ie, while there's nothing better to play.

Good to see some positivity that problems are being identified and turned over quickly, rather than further moaning that these problems occur in the first place, as if this was the first ever game that has had glitches.

Now if they would just fix the problem WHERE I CAN'T FUCKING CONNECT TO IWNET.

1887 are ridiculous, the game should have been in beta. This list is small compared to how many glitches there really are they have been getting fixed without reference in patch note or twitters. The game has roughly 10-20 glitches I mean this doesn't even get 25% of them then your talking about balance. Holy Shit. Game been a huge disappointment because of all the possibilities of cheating in this game. What point is a ladder or prestige when it takes a mere 10 secs for instance to get the highest prestige? K:D glitch in elevator or getting inside the map, nukes cheated for. Freaking lame and IW only has themselves to blame.

@CaptainBus Glitches happen but if you knew or had even a clue how many there are you would be having a shit fit too. 10-20 is a conservative estimate, the number may be up as high as 30+.

Double models are overpowered. I couldn't beat them, so I joined them. I won't baww if they nerf them though. My main concern is the next wave of idiot children that get this game for Christmas. I'm planning on prestiging very soon after Christmas for the extra class slot, then moving on to MAG or BF2 soon after.

1887s being balanced? Fuck yes. I don't know how they ever got past QC or whatever testing - once someone turns up in a game with akimbo 1887s, Stopping Power, Steady Aim and either Slight Of Hand or Scavanger, it's game over for the other team. The bloody AC130 is less scary than twin 1887s. Either their accuracy and range neds to go far, far down when used akimbo, their power has to go down or they need to say balls to it and take out the akimbo option for them entirely.

Please don't think I don't know or care that there are glitches, but Infinity Ward aren't just sitting on their hands so fair play to them for that.

If you look at the Live leaderboards for score, the number one player has played for over 13000 days. That's 37 years!

And bummer about the 1887s. At least this'll give me a reason to prestige.

This is why I don't spend time with console FPS games - the douchebag consituent far outweighs the "normal" people.

but jim said that the leaderboard exploit was exclusive to the PS3? god now we'll have to skip ANOTHER post where he tries to re-state his case and simultaneously sugar coat and slip us the same point of view .

I remember playing a FFA match. There was this guy with akimbo 1887s AND a riot shield. He was completely impervious to attacks from the back. Needless to say, the game finished with him at the top.

FINALLY x_x this is long overdue, IMO most these stupid glitches/balancing issues should have been solved b4 the release of the game.
Now im positive Battlefield 2 will be a lot better

I had no idea they were looking into the 1887, but I can't tell you how happy that makes me. Being blasted by a shotgun from 30 yds away from a guy that isn't really even aiming at me and having it still be a one-shot kill was seriously starting to piss me off.

Quickly? The game came out over a month ago and is having problems that should never have even hit retail.

I never understood how IW thought that giving those crusty old shotguns that much range was accurate. Ah well, at least it's getting addressed now.

I am excited to see how they are going to balance the 1887s. Just reduce the damage? I hope so. I'm sick of getting killed from 40 yards out from somebody who just had to look in my general direction and pull the trigger. I can't wait to hear all of the whining from people who use the 1887s as a crutch now.

this is good news....all games have issues and i'm happy they're being taken care of.

For all those in a tirade, I understand, but this dosn't even compare to Gears of War 2. Atleast matchmaking WORKS. I remember waiting 15-30 minutes for matches to start when GOW2 came out.

It really isn't surprising that the most popular online shooter would be targeted by people who thrive on cheating.

I'm just glad that IW is working on them faster than Epic did with Gears 2. That games still broken if you ask me.

Glad to see a fix for the 1887. It's range was way to far, I hope they fix that part of it.

I'd love if they re-balanced all the guns a bit, like either making the stats fit the guns correctly, or the guns fit their stats. There are a couple where the stat bars are pretty misleading.

Jeez will everyone stop whining about how it should have had a Beta? ALL GAMES HAVE A BETA tards, just not a public one.

The Infinite Ammo glitch and AIDS are apparently gone though. I didn't encounter a single match of those playing for hours last night. The 18 player FFA / Private Match one still exists though.
