I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I think I might end up getting a Wii sooner than expected. I'm really surprised that they really pulled through and it seems like they fixed most of the problems people have been complaining about. Hell, it would probably be worth getting a Wii for Metal Slug and virtual console alone at such a low price.
I'd just like to thank you Summa for putting up the Vids and just showing it how it is. For all the negative crap over the past few weeks the extended coverage above what other sites are offering is really cool.
I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong, for sure. But so far, I'm in love with this console. One more vid for the night is coming up very soon. It has to do with the GameCube.
Summa, lets not forget this enthusiasm when the PS3 turns up and gets you all erect with its graphics and sound. We're happy for both to be cool for different reasons. :)
My only concern, Jelster, is that after two years, the Wii's new car smell might ware off. I'm hoping that games continue to be custom made for it and that devs continue to put support behind it to keep the console fresh.
Its a valid concern but the DS's performance in this respect has shown that two years could actually be the maturity time for the Wii to kick out some classic titles.______
Everyone needs to take one step to the left. Traditional gaming is still within arms reach but right in front of you is something new, the controls seem to be mechanically sound enough to allow developers to expands their imaginations in new directions (I'd still love to see a 1:1 sword type game to prove its possible, as well as lightgun functionality). Of course to the far right is processing power gaming which Nintendo and anyone who buys the Wii has to just accept is not ever going to be part of their experience.
As long as the Wii's sales do well, I think we can expect it to have a long and awesome game library. The Xbox 360 and ESPECIALLY the PS3 have an expensive, long, and prohibitive development cycle. The Wii will be a 'safer' console to develop for as the price to develop and produce a game will be much more affordable, and more likely for companies to make a profit. It already has a lot of support, now it just needs the sales and continued support, and it can be expected to be a hit.
Hey Rob since you now have Wii Sports could you do us a favor
I was playing the Wii today at a kiosk, and I noticed 2 extra features in Wii sports called Wii Exercise and Wii Strength, but the attendant wouldn't let me access them and wouldn't say why, think you could show us what they are?
I for one am going to boycott this video. Why would I want to ruin the surprise of those precious moments when you first open up the box containing your console and see it looking so much sexier in the flesh.
This guy is like the annoying friend who ruins the twist of a film, or runs off with your girlfriend, leaving you with a gigantic mortgage and three kids to feed, whilst trying to hold up three jobs to pay for little Johnny's life saving surgery...
I am really loving all this Wii Porn on the net, however it is making my 26 day wait until I can go and get my very own Wii unbearable! The sad thing is if I could fit myself in a freezer like Cartman I would!
(also Argon i agree with you, Rob does look like Jack from Lost).
I noticed there seems to be 2 lights on either end of the sensor bar that were on when you were going through the menu's and stuff. Do those stay on all the time?
man I am loving your Wii videos. Keep up the good work! I am curious to see just how accessible this system is to the not-so-hardcore gamer/non-gamer. Any chance you have guinea pigs you could use to test it out? No manuals or help from you, just have them try it out on their own to see if the Wii converts them to gaming.
Love the vids, Summa. Nice beard and is that a woman's voice I hear in one of the videos? Alright Summa scoring Wii points with the girl. Good choice of beer too.
Unboxing my Wii didn't look anything like this. There was more crying and a robot named ROB held a gun on me as I took my clothes off and danced for him for hours.

Then again, maybe it's just my lack of sleep.
