In this week's Sessler's Soapbox, the host of G4's X-Play is upset with Wii owners. No, Adam's not necessarily mad at you, friends; if you're reading Destructoid, the chance that you picked up a copy of Super Mario Galaxy over High School Musical: Sing It! is pretty high. You're smart, which is why we keep you around (and you smell nice, which is a plus).
He's a bit miffed at the "casual" Wii gamer we've been hearing so much about, though. It seems that they're just not buying enough Wii games, particularly the "good" ones. He mentions Super Mario Galaxy, wondering out loud why more copies of the chubby Italian's newest adventure haven't flown off of store shelves. I'm kind of curious, too; it's a great game, possibly one of the best this year, and certainly one of the best titles on the Wii.
But Adam doesn't mention any other titles that he thinks casual gamers should be buying. They're certainly picking up any game that features a digital Zac Efron, and games packed with a peripheral consumers were going to buy anyhow.
I know what Wii games are worth taking a look at, casual gamer or not. But I'll feign ignorance, because I want to hear it from you guys. Besides the high-profile titles we hear so much about, what games should Wii owners be picking up? Are there any you think people might have missed?
Hmm ...
Well, shit.

Also Sessler is a knob.
Worthy Wii games (not named Mario, Zelda, or Metroid):
Zack & Wiki, Trauma Center: Second Opinion/New Blood, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Dewey's Adventure, Metal Slug Anthology, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, SSX Blur, Super Swing Golf, NiGHTs, and WarioWare.
All a place to start, even if they're not blockbusters. And then in the future you have Tales of Symphonia 2, Oboro Muramasa Youtouden, No More Heroes, Monster Hunter 3, Opoona (though I doubt it, there's still the chance it could be good), Harvest Moon Wii, and Fragile.
Very enjoyable puzzle game. Always gives me a headache after from too much thinking 8(
anyone who's willing to do that instead of me is more then welcome to 'cause I'm too busy playing Mario Galaxy to do it
Also, I play the crap out of Guilty Gear on wii. I have to say, Wii has some pretty bomb japanese games, whereas the 360 has dope online multiplayer shit.
That damn voice *shudders*
Fanboi
But anyway:
RE: Umbrella Chronicles is good game, not amazing but fun. More for the fans though. Prime, Zelda, Mario of course. Zack and Wiki, RE4 wiimake. Not much else, but some titles are enjoyable depending on tastes and shit, and many are cheap.
You figured me out.
In the end, they make my eyes happy. In the case of Crysis they make for one hell of a believable experience. Galaxy played excellently but so did Crysis and it looked a hellva lot better as well. But whatever, my Wii is just sitting here collecting dust because I have never bought into the control scheme. I still say a regular controller feels better to me than any of the Wii's games.
I kicks ass
and Galaxy is sick
galaxy, metroid, and ive been meaning to pick up zack and wiki
Up and comers include No More Heroes, Fragile, SSB: Brawl, Oopona, Okami and lots more that I cannot be arsed to write down.
To anybody . . . ANYBODY who says there are no great games for the Wii, well, open your fucking eyes you pricks! Take the fucking blinders off and have a fucking look around next time you're in Blockbuster, for fuck's sake. The only reason your Wii should be collecting dust is due to the fact that you threw your elbow out playing one of the many great games the system has to offer. Grow up, shut up, and play some fucking games.
Sheesh. Better go out and spend or else youre a bad American, that goes for people in Canada too!
for shame... no one mentioned the Wiisports! you get to stand on one leg... then the other! can HD do that!?
And fuck Sessler, it's time for him to be put out to pasture. He's losing touch.
In other news I find Mario Galaxy to be a lot of fun... still not as good as Super Mario World, but close at times.
foshi... im laughing at you first.
that is how many think of it and play it. wii sports only.. it's a doomed system, cause the third parties will lose money on it.
Tell me this when there are more games.
Also, Foshi is a graphics whore.
Go play Contra, douchebag. Maybe even the original Street Fighter II. Yeah, you can enjoy games for something other than High Definition graphics. It's true!
You can have fun and not be seeing every single fucking blade of grass individually procedurally generated. It's cool, but not even close to making as much of a difference as you believe.
And to second everyone above, Zack & Wiki, Metroid, Twilight Princess, Trauma Center, Umbrella Chronicles, and RE 4 are all great! And the Virtual Console's not half bad, either. Sin & Punishment FINALLY!!
wiiplay!
Maybe some year down the line I'll be in the same level of epic douche as the rest of you.
And he used Mario Galaxy as an example. Don't let your asshole fall out of your body because he didn't name your favorite Wii game (Zelda sucked anyways). He never once said it was the only good game. He was simply trying to prove a point.
Also, the Wii's online system can lick my balls. I've never seen a more slower interface in my life. Anyway. Shall we exchange friend codes? I want to play some games!
The Wii's a turd, its a fad, nothing more, as long as people keep buying shit like Carnival games you won't see the innovation you people want.
And no, No More Heroes is not your killer app, its gonna sell like ass. Not because it will suck, but because its the kind of title that most Wii owners won't care about.
rented MP3C.
i honestly don't give a fuck about any other wii games, really.
i guess that i would like to try manhunt 2, but i'm not in any hurry...
