Really SanDisk? You really had to do this?
As you can see, SanDisk is set to release a Rock Band 2 themed 2GB SD Card for the Wii. The card will hold about 75 downloadable songs for Rock Band 2 and will go for $12.99 when it’s released this Spring.
The sad thing about this is that you know there are people out there who will think that this SD Card can only work with Rock Band 2. They’ll buy multiple SD Cards not knowing that ANY SD Card can work with anything involving memory management on the Wii, including downloadable songs.
Of course, this wouldn’t be an issue if Nintendo would release a hard drive already.
And yes, I totally realize how weird it is to see a post about Rock Band that's not by Nick Chester. I'm scared too.

To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I remember working electronics at Target and having people ask me "Do I need this Wii Sports accessory kit to play?" (aka a plastic racket and other useless stuff) "Is this Wii Fit Yoga mat electronic?" NO and NO! They're sleaze products and you almost bought them.
They kept the expensive "Wii Brand" SD cards by the Wii accessories.
I'd stop people and tell them that theres one for 20 bucks cheaper over by the cameras.
I mean seriously, i've seen alot of people conned into buying Wii accessories that they didnt need. Not to mention the hoards of soccer moms who had to ask "is this a nunchuk?"
Agreed. They could have charged a hell of a lot more and people would have fallen for it. Now the fun part is trying to convince those same people that the SD card will also work just fine for GH:WT DLC!
"But .. but .. it says Rock Band on it!"
{face palm}
Also, I totally originally read 17, instead of 75 and thus was horribly shocked. I'm still surprised that it's still such a small number.
Would sell more if they were Guitar Hero Branded. Or if they said WiiSD on them.
It is pointless but an SD card is an SD card I suppose.
(and, yes i know there are other SD cards out there ;P)
I think they're usually around 20-40mb depending on length of the song of course.
and shipping for 3-7 days shipping costs $6.99. So this is a good deal. Plus, some people may not shop online or have credit/debit cards.
also, extra kudos for cheap prices from SanDisk.
At least it's not the rape that was 2gb Wii branded SD card for $40 or something around launch time.
