Lately I've been making parrallels between the Microsoft/Sony fight and a schoolyard argument between infants, but I think the sheer blatant childishness of the two companies is rendering such contrasts redundant. Yesterday, we noted that Kaz Hirai made a few rather delusional remarks about how Sony is the "official market leader," and rather than let the comments stand on their own, Microsoft allowed itself to be goaded into a response.
"This sounds like an old hardware company that's comfortable with its market position," said Aaron Greenberg. You know you're in for a fun time when Aaron Greenberg says things. "That complacent attitude is out of touch with where the industry and consumer is today.
"I'm confident we will outsell the PS3 throughout the entire generation by providing more innovation and building the best and broadest games library while growing our entertainment experiences on the leading online network."
Greenberg also stated his belief that the PS3 wouldn't be able to outsell the Xbox 360 until at least 2014, even if you doubled the PS3's sales and the Xbox 360 sales "remained flat." As Greenberg said this, his knob grew eight feet in length and he punched a hole in the sky with pure might.
Meanwhile, Nintendo chooses to ignore the immature prattling of both companies. It's a bit too busy making a profit.

My friends and I collectively own all 3 consoles (Xbox 360, Sony PS3, and Nintendo Wii). I would say that each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I wouldn’t dismiss Xbox 360 if I were Sony. It has come a very long way since the original Xbox and Microsoft put in a ton of work for the 360 version. I also recall somewhere I read that Xbox 360 outsold Sony over the 2008 holiday season.
On the note about having access to all 3 consoles, I recently picked up an Xbox 360 Pro (the 60GB version) along with Tom Clancy’s End War for around $270 total, which was awesome. (By the way, I got it at Dell through a deal listed at <a href="http://www.uberi.com">http://www.uberi.com</a>.).
I wonder at what point we will see more motion sensor based games and control similar to Wii on Xbox 360 and PS3. Surely that will significantly increase the appeal of Xbox 360 and PS3, and take away Wii’s advantages. Perhaps it’s patent related or something. It would also be nice to know the features and plans for the next generation of game consoles.
But for now, just sit back and enjoy the show.
