The hot news to come out of Croatia today is that Serious Sam 3: BFE will feature "crazy ass split screen." Translated, that roughly means the PC version does up to four-person split screen in the cooperative campaign and multiplayer modes.
One person gets to play via mouse and keyboard, and three friends can join in using gamepads. Apparently, you guys have been demanding this support on Facebook and the forums; thanks for complaining so we don't have to.
Reasons why local play is better than online, directly from the people working on Serious Sam 3:
- Visual identification of opponents allows for more accurate racial and gender slurs during Deathmatch and Capture the Flag games.
- Close proximity allows for unwanted sexual advances towards opponents without fear of reprisal due to their fear of losing the lead in Team Deathmatch.
- Leon’s mom usually walks around the house in these ridiculously short shorts that show the very edge of her butt. Seriously dude, you should see these things.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Living up to your name, eh?
@Cynical Gamer
No you suck. BOOM!
This! I've seen this and family meeting where gaming's involved.
....DAY. ONE.

Incorrect.
A thousand times yes.
The amount of times friends have come over and the limited amount of games we can play because none of the fucking support split-screen, online multiplayer had its pros but it has bluntly and slowly killed split-screen. Now I can only hope this will be the same for the consoles (Assuming) otherwise this comment was for nothing. As for serious sam its a strange game but I did enjoy first encounter.
