Seller asks $750 for a Final Fantasy VII jacket photo

Final Fantasy, and the seventh game in the series in particular, never seems to go out of style. But I think you'd really have to dig the game's style to drop $750 for a Final Fantasy VII varsity-style jacket.

I don't think you'll be surprised to hear that the auction ended yesterday with no bidders. The seller claims that only 50 of these items were ever made, and that he nabbed this from the official Web site some time around 1997-1998.

I know the estimated value of this jacket as I have contacted the makers of Final Fantasy VII.  I have a very keen interest in selling the Jacket, I just hope that there is someone out there who wants to own an extremely rare piece of gaming history.

What would you get for $750? It's a wool and leather jacket that has the Squaresoft logo on the breast and a huge FF7 logo on the back. Of course, $750 could instead buy you every Final Fantasy title ever made, and still have enough left over for a nice dinner. Oh, and you might have to save the rest to buy some sex, because you'll never get any the normal way by owning this jacket.

If you were to bid right now, what would you offer for this jacket?

The same price as my high school varisty jacket: 45 bucks.

That jacket has that quintessential "late 90s" look.

I'd pay nothing for it. I would like to know what ever happened to the James bond PS3 contest.

I'm sure there's someone out there that doesn't mind dropping this kind of money for their collection.

How much would I pay for a jacket I would never wear, and would just sit atop my pile of gaming memorabilia I'm never going to touch again? Well, I have $10 in my pocket, so $10.

I would pay any of you to take this jacket from me if I had it in my possession. That is to say I would pay no more than $-30 dollars for it. Gross.

The fact that he didn't try to sell it for $777 PROVES it's a fake!

I got far more enjoyment from the photo's caption than I ever could receive from a $750 Final Fantasy jacket.

The Star Fox jacket on here a few weeks back coupled with aviator glasses is far greater than this jacket could ever wish to be.

This thing has been on eBay for at LEAST 3 months. At first he was asking $1000, and for the last few listings it has been $800, so regardless of his "contact" with whomever - he's just milking it for whatever he stole it for and is losing money to eBay on a daily basis.

I'd give him ten bucks for it. I don't ever need a jacket, so it's mostly for the novelty.

I'd give him 15$ for it, simply for novelty's sake. It would never fit my 6'6" frame in my wildest dreams.
