Sega teams up with A-1 Pictures to produce Valkyria Chronicles anime photo
     Anime

Valkyria Chronicles may be one of the best games to ever grace my PS3, and I'm not saying that just because of the drop dead gorgeous watercolor-inspired art style. Other gamers just as addicted as I am may be pleased to find out that the game has been snapped up for an televised series.

It will be done by A-1 Pictures, who are also responsible for two of my favorite shows, Persona: Trinity Soul and Kuroshitsuji, the latter which is currently airing on the Tokyo Broadcasting System in Japan. No word on whether or not this will be localized, but you can be sure it will be fansubbed, so there will definitely be a way to check it out in the future.

Now, if only they would make collectible figures of the game's characters...

This news is a huge barrel of awesome.

I love the look of this game, and an anime series to look forward to is icing on the cake. All I need now is a PS3 to play the game.

Come on Sega, port Valkyria Chronicles to 360.

I agree with mister up there. The DMC anime is nothing like the games really. Dante is a different character in the anime, he sucks.

When you combine the fact that Valkyria is getting made into an anime with the success that Overwork's other blockbuster title, Sakura Wars, had as a cartoon, all I end up with is a supreme sour-face over the lack of Skies of Arcadia anime in my life. Why overlook that masterpiece in what is so obviously a recipe for total win?

Cowboy TTop has the right idea, c'mon Sega, let's get this on the 360 pronto. *Looks at list of games I still want for the holiday season* Then again, I'm a little backlogged as is...feel free to take your time with that port.

This is the next game I'm buying, and if I like the game as much as the demo, I might actually check out the show as well.

There are trading figures for Valkyria Chronicles. Four have been produced so far - Alicia, Isara, Rosie and Capt. Verret. More are due in December. I just want to know when Wendy, Vyse and Catherine will be available.

I agree! The game is absolutely amazing in every aspect from the art style, complelling story, lovable characters and it's unique take on turn base tactics (Think Fallout 3's VAT:Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting). Even with Fallout 3/Deadspace/LBP/Resistance 2 on the shelf, I haven't been able to pull away from this gem! The PSN demo was a very small taste. I highly recommend you give this game a chance if you haven't already picked it up. It's a fantastic start of a new franchise for Sega and I'm already looking forward to a bigger/refined sequel.

Can't wait till the anime hits. Hope they keep the art style.

@nilcam - Yeah, they're really nice too. I've been deliberating on being super creepy and ordering the swimsuit line that they're taking orders for on NCS. I've developed an unnatural fondness for Rosie.

games are always better when they have a show to go along with them.
