Sega Soccer Slam and Raze's Hell to get the Xbox Originals treatment next week photo

It's sad that these Xbox Originals announcement posts seem to always be synonymous with disappointment, but hey -- I don't pick the games, I just tell you nice folks about 'em.

On December 15, the Xbox LIVE Marketplace will see the addition of two new titles, Sega Soccer Slam and Raze's Hell. As per usual, the games will cost $15 (1200 Microsoft Points) each and can almost certainly be found for cheaper elsewhere.

Personally, I haven't played either of these games, but I hear Sega Soccer Slam is quite fun and Raze's Hell has excellent dark humor. Still, it's obvious there are plenty of untapped Xbox games people would rather see come to Originals than these two titles. This is nothing new though, right?

Hah. I remember Raze's Hell. I thought the game looked really stupid at the time. Never got around to playing it though.

Raze's Hell was fun. You would never expect it to be as violent as it was. I didn't really make it that far, because I played it at a friend's house. he had it and i was just mooching off og him.

I AM OFFENDED BY THIS NEWS ARTICLE IT IS CLEARLY BIAS AND STUPID.

Being serious for a moment these are two of the best games Xbox had to offer and are seriously obscure...I'd say there's not many better choices (Breakdown, PhantomDust and Metal Wolf not withstanding).

Breakdown was too ambitious. It probably would've benefitted from the extra power on the 360.

I'm all for bringing back The Warriors. That game I remember playing for two days straight with a friend, it was fantastic.

I know it'd wreck the canon, but I'd like to see some sort of character creation, It gave Saints 2 an MMO kind of feel in just seeing how diverse all the players were, and I'd like that in the Warriors.

that being said , Sega Soccer Slam is a great game, I remember it on gamecube as well and I played the shit out of it. It's like a Hitz version of Fifa, if that makes sense.

I have Raze's Hell. It's funny, yes, but not exactly fun. The gameplay is really generic. You shoot, shoot, shoot, and shoot with nearly identical weapons. They're just different colors and shoot at different speeds/rates/strengths. It's most redeeming value, gameplay-wise, is that it has online and splitscreen co-op. Other than that, it gets boring really fast. Don't play Raze's Hell by yourself... or at all, whatever.

Dammit man, now I really want to play The Warriors. That game is an excellent example of how to treat a license; they fleshed out an entire backstory for each of the main characters. Then they let you play through the plot of the movie.

*runs off to find the psp version*

There were a couple of weeks a few years ago where I was looking for a copy of Raze's Hell but couldn't find one anywhere. I probably won't be DL'ing it right now with everything else I have to play but it's good to know it's available if I find $15 in the street or something.

Funny to notice. Even in the comments, people absolutely ignore the sega game, soccer slam. And honestly, that makes complete sense. I'm writing this as an afterthought of the new sonic unleashed game, released for wii. I haven't played that, and probably won't, as it seems completely unappealing, as far as the Werehog part is concerned. The point I raise here is: What is going on with sega?

I was a sega genesis fanboy, played sonic like crazy, loved many of the follow-ups, even some rip-offs, hoped for dreamcast's success but, all of a sudden, it's over. Not today, not now, but for some years. Sega looks like an agonizing old friend. What was the last good game Sega released. Worse. Wich one did you wich had a sequel? Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg? Space Channel 5?

If you doubt it, check it out...

Sure, there's been Comix Zone, Shenmue, Virtua Tennis, Jet Set Radio, but...

I think maybe the problem is the lack of personality to Sega's games. Some examples:
1-Sonic used to be a childish cute little fat fast running hedgehog that suddenly got all that 90's teenager attitude... Weird. Imagine nintendo doing it with Mario... maybe he'd shave the moustache
2-The Virtua Fighter series. It's great, it's fun, but... many people can hardly remember the fighter's name. They just don't have personality. You can easily remember many of the DOA girls, you can like (or dislike) Astaroth, but virtua fighter...?
