Sometimes I'm a simple man, and these new screenshots for Sega's Viking: Battle for Asgard certainly speak to my baser instincts. In one screen there's a giant troll, all battle scarred and dripping with blood. In another screen the game's protagonist Skarin decapitates an enemy, and another shows him tearing through a torso, exposing what appears to be intestines. Finally, there's some menacing looking chick wearing a tight leather strapless outfit. What more can you ask for in this battle between mortal and gods in Asgard, the realm of the Norse Gods? I mean, there's a story here involving Odin, Freya, and friends ... but who cares? You can slice a dude in half, bro. And that chick? She's totally wearing a strapless leather outfit, dude.
The single-player hack and slash adventure of Viking: Battle for Asgard ships on March 25, and will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Oh, and did I mention it's rated M?

This fills my berserker gaming needs. If this were to have the main character draped in a bearskin, I will give praise to Freyja and give this game 11/10 without even playing it.
Hmm, strange I haven't seen this on my radar yet, I'll have to check out the videos when I get home, the screens look great.
I've been looking forward to this game since seeing the first videos on IGN a while back. I can't wait to play it.
Also, I love the art style. It's like a darker grittier Fable.

Published, it's being delevolped by the guys who make the Total War series.
I loves me some Vikings. I wrote a whole paper about how they can crush ninjas and pirates and everything else because those denominations are too busy congratulating themselves for being so popular.
That said, I want this now.
Just worried that this game will be very repetitive after 30 mins.
Although I do love me some gore from now and then, depends really how much my fiancials can take 8(

Hope I can rape and pillage. It's not Vikingy unless you can rape and pillage... perhaps, Assassin's Creed style, you also play in the present day, working for the US military... then there would be rape and pillage.
Somehow I hadn't heard of this baby yet. Gore's cool, but I hope it plays really well and has a cool NORSE MYTHOLOGY YEAH kind of story.
Also, it looks like the men are as naked as the women in this game, which is unusual/awesome. I love the tattoos.
I'm surprised more people haven't heard of this. I've had this on my gamedar (like gaydar, cept less asscentric) for a while. Hell, even my fiance likes watching the videos on XBL. Assuming this game doesn't Conan-suck, it should be fuck nuts awesome for the shit ton of characters on screen with the sheer amount of blood spilt by the mighty hand of Skarin.
I've been keeping an eye on this ever since I downloaded the preview videos off of XBL. I really hope it's good. I've been jonesing for a new hack n' slash for the past month.

This game looks fucking sick! LOL A blistering metal soundtrack would be so cool. Remember Contra:Shattered Soldier on the PS?? The metal soundtrack made me yell at the top of my lungs the entire time I played that game.

if this were a "good" game, we would have heard a lot more by now - we would know a lot more on the game play by now as well (good news travels).
if your 10, you'll probably like it (yeah, conan rocked!). if your an adult, something tells me that the issues below will more than likely be present:
poor\frustrating combat mechanics
poor ai issues
poor game play graphics - which are over compensated by cool cut scenes
poor voice acting
poor plot
etc....
