Sega planning Bayonetta demo, new screens while you wait photo

Thanks to translation time and the frustrating irrational fear that Modern Warfare 2 has stricken into the hearts of publishers everywhere, the US won't be seeing Bayonetta until January of 2010. Fortunately for Jim Sterling and anyone else sporting a tent for it, however, Sega plans to release a playable demo.

On Saturday, the company held its Feel Bayonetta event in Japan, giving some 300 people a chance to get some early playtime with Platinum's new game. Its producer, Yusuke Hashimoto, was on hand to speak to the press, and says that his team is currently hard at work on preparing a sampler for the rest of the public.

He then went on to say, "It will be more than just a demo that's pulled from the middle of the game. We'd like to make it so that those who've already bought the game will make new discoveries if they play the demo."

Not sure what the hell that's suposed to mean, but hey, Bayonetta demo. In the meantime, enjoy a few new screenshots in the gallery below.

Who cares what does it means?
The most important thing is that whole game means one thing.

The demo is really, really good.

If it's the same one as E3, it'll also tease you with the hundreds of different moves you can do during the interactive loading screens. Color me excited to play this again, over and over!

Can someone please explain to me the hype behind this game! It looks like DMC 4 to me with a hot chick instead of Dante. I'm not slamming it at all. It just does nothing for me.

Well, it is made by the creator of the DMC series, so that explains a lot. But only seeing videos and stuff, I don't know think there is a way to get anyone interested in it unless they're already interested themselves. Personally, I like the DMC series and I'm looking forward to see what this is all about. Looks like it's 20x more over the top than DMC and.. it has boobs.

Yes, it is just like Devil May Cry - which means that it's an standard hardcore action title (the modern genre of which DMC created), deep-fried and slathered in a 2-gallon bucket of awesomesauce.

Don't bitch when awesomesauce is involved.

Seriously, what more do you want from a game?

And that is why Topher is doing this article instead of Jim who is too busy fapping.

It is made by the guy who created Devil May Cry 1 and also the guy who made God Hand. You don't need to worry. Let's hope the demo comes out this year at least.

I was able to get my hands on the 'Foreplay' Demo at this year's Fan Expo in Toronto (which was basically the demo at E3 I believe). Out of the three upcoming games I played (This, Dragonage and God of War 3), Bayonetta was the one the one booth I kept going back to.

While each of the three games had a hint of familiarity to them, Bayonetta had a lot of style to it that made it an even more enjoyable experience. If the same demo were to hit the marketplace, I'd be sure to download it in a heartbeat.
