A SEGA rep has confirmed that Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight were two entries in a trilogy, the third of which will arrive sometime in the future. Thus the so-called "Sonic Storybook" series will be complete.
This information was gleaned during a public chat with SEGA Mexico.
In addition to this, another SEGA Superstars game is on the cards -- past entries were SEGA Superstars, SEGA Superstars Tennis and Sonic & SEGA All-stars Racing.
During the chat, Tails Adventure on the Game Gear somehow came up, and the Mexico rep was asked if we'd see another portable Tails game. The reply was quite interesting: "Something like a Sonic Adventure 3 ... DS? I think that would be a great idea."
I wouldn't read too much into that statement, but it's still worth noting that SEGA brought it up first!

Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I just knocked over my entire desk and screamed triumphantly upon hearing this.
I wouldn't play Sonic Adventure 3. There's like 40 characters in this franchise now. It would be even worse than only getting to play as Sonic for 20 minutes in SA2.
Yes to a new Sega Superstars (Something like Smash Bros? Another Kart Racer with Segata Sanshiro.)
No for a new Sonic Adventure 3. That's just giving the fanboys what they want.
(Hey, Sega, Put Sonic Triple Trouble on eShop. Nack the Weasel needs money.)
I mean you didn't consider it shovelware before it was even shown right?
FUCK YES. What are we gonna do now, Beat?
Let's add Sketch Turner, Ethan Waber, Bayonetta, aaaaand Kid Chameleon
Seriously though, I know a lot of people didn't, but I had a really good time with both of the Sonic Storybook games so far, and I can't wait to see it be complete.
That is all.
Yes, technically the SEGA logo is marketed in all caps. I believe it's an anagram, isn't it?
No, it's short for Services Games, they used to be an IT company for arcades machines.
The logo is all in caps but that doesn't mean you have to write it in all caps everytime you mention it, "Sega" would be just alright. Some people like to write SEGA I guess for aesthetic reasons.
If anything, the most loyal to the original meaning of the name would be SeGa
And why is giving fanboys what they want necessarily bad? They have as much a right to play games as you or anyone else.
Also, fuck haters. I don't have the nostalgia retard in me and I thought the storybook games were great fun. Buying the third.
The Storybook games will only be for Wii. So prepare for disappointment.
ALSO RAILS.
I loved Sonic Adventure until I realized just how bad it really is. For all the good it did with speedy Sonic gaming in 3D as far as level design and controls were concerned, it really just fucked up everything else with the bad story, awful voices, shoddy collision programming, an at-times dodgy camera, bloated playable character roster, and having to zigzag between everywhere to ask Tikal where to go and trigger the next mind-numbing cutscene. So, yeah. Not sure what to think of SA3DS other than utter disappointment waiting to happen. Unless SEGA's really learned from all their mistakes and aren't fucking around anymore.
