Ah, Dubai. It’s become one of the fastest developed cities in the world and offers some unique attractions. Now, it’s the home to a 76,000 square foot Sega theme park.

The theme park has 150 amusement games spread out into five themed zones -- Speed, Adventure, Sports, Cyberpop and Redemption. The park also has nine rides with names like Spin Gear, Sonic Hopper, Initial D4 limited and so on.

The Spin Gear sounds like a really awesome ride. Dubai Chronicle describes it as a roller coaster where two people face each other and spin in circles as they go down the track. The Spin Gear is also the theme parks largest ride as it takes up more than 20 percent of the total area in the park.

This looks like a Tony Hawk level. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it became one.

There was funding for this? No wonder we haven't seen a Sega console since 1999. Also meh....outside ain't my forte.

Spin Gear would have me vomiting all over whoever I was across from, which would probably not be very fun.

Still, this place seems really awesome as a whole.
It's the only theme park where you'll see a section named "Redemption", at the very least.

Call me ignorant, but I'm afraid to go anywhere near that area.
Then again, I also feel as though investing in real estate seems like a great idea over there.

Too bad Dubai is doomed. They're drawing on fossil water, it won't be long before that entire region is totally ruined.

Great for Sega! Now give us our god damn games instead of a god damn theme park jackass.

@CWal37

The kingdom of Dubai is already running on E with their fuel trade, instead it's doing all of this to encourage western investors into their real-estate as well as invest in their main city as a vacation and tourist spot. They know, along with other Kingdoms of the UAE, that trade with the West is good business but they're also aware that they can no longer sell fuel.

It's one of the few Middle Eastern places that's bending over backwards to cater to Westerners as they've actually spent resources to find loop-holes in the Koran to allow drinking and so on.

However as ConsummateK has pointed out they've bent over backwards too much as they've put their own people into near bondage. The nickname for westerner in Dubai is "Fortunate One".

I went to Dubai Mall last weak and it was freaking huge. They were not kidding when they said that it's the largest in the world. I was searching for this one shop and it took me about an hour or so to reach it.

Also I saw the Sega republic but it was closed along with the cinema. I wonder if the cinema has opened as well?

Isn't the funding terrorism deal a rumour and nothing completely cemented in fact?

Hilarious though, +1 for you bastardmaster XD I actually laughed out loud.

But remember kids, the US does... well the same fucking damn thing anyway! At least the girls here can walk around with short shorts, drool.

Hmmm, maybe Blizzard can atone for their sins of raping Starcraft II by building a theme park where you can don a hydralisk suit.
