PS3 fans are getting the short end of the stick with their version of Bayonetta. It's a publisher port of a game developed entirely for the Xbox 360, and it shows. One of the major issues players had was with the PS3 version's load times, but Sega has promised to be looking into that particular problem. Don't expect many fixes before the January 5 release date, though.
"I can, in fact, speak on [the developer's] behalf in saying that a patch to correct this issue is under consideration through development to address the matter of the overwhelming load times with Bayonetta," states a Sega rep. "Something I cannot address directly is when this will occur however I will be tracking this directly on all sides (the Japanese, North American, and European versions) as to ensure that we know exactly the status of each one. Provided that I am given full disclosure on this, I will be sure to keep you posted on what to expect."
The Bayonetta PS3 saga has gone on for a long time. If you have both a 360 and PS3, it's very clear what system to get it on. If you just have a PS3, well ... the game's okay on there, I guess. One day, Sega might fix all the issues with it!

Despite the news trend, I was always hoping SEGA would continue polishing the game before its US release date... and this is good news. I still want to buy this for the PS3, so don't blow your chance, SEGA.
I still think that Sega forced Platinum Games to allow them to make a PS3-port, when they probably only wanted to release the game for 360, but that doesn't mean that all you wondeful Sony folks should suffer. I know that I would certainly be pissed if the situation was reversed.
...just sayin'.
The reason? The frame rates DO NOT interfere with the actual gameplay. 99% of the time, it feels and plays very smoothly. However, it does slow down during cutscenes; very noticeably so, and I highly believe most people won't be able to tolerate that. Other minor issues like less detailed textures, load times, and washed-out colors are present, but these can be forgiven, particularly because of this type of game, where you rush through areas fairly quickly.
So like I said, IF you have the option, definitely go for the 360 version, but it's fine if you can only get the PS3 version. You'll probably need to overlook one particular flaw, but otherwise it's still an acceptable version.
But what am I saying? Fuck Sega.
So, that makes me wonder ... Is the PS3 version actually being done by Sega or is it being done by a different company?
I'm still getting the 360 version, regardless.
Seriously, skip it on 360 and PS3; if they're too lazy to put out a decent version on both systems then we're just encouraging bad development by funding them.
No.
I wouldn't say that this is that big of a deal. There's plenty of awesome stuff on the ps3, so just get it for yer 360.
Just saying.
As far as the "inferior" game goes, I still don't see a problem with the PS3 version, and it makes me want to play the demo on the 360 just to compare.
I had finished the game and it is similar to DMC 1 in certain degree but it still offers so much more along with unique boss fights and special moves.
Just saying.
About loading time, I can practice combo moves on loading screen, so I don't even install the game into the hard drive to try them out and practice. Besides, the loading time on 360's just normal. It only takes a little bit long between each levels. But who cares about loading time when you can do sexy fighting moves while waiting.
Wait, THAT kind of loading screens we're on about here? Longer loading than gameplay?
Sheeeeeeeeeesh.
You're not paying for half of the product, you're paying for an inferior product. It is 99.9% the same game, you just get some crappy loading times and other small problems that do not affect the overall point of the game. I would say you were right if you only received half of the levels, but hell, you got the full game, just some shit load times.
