PS Plus costs about $5 a month. These games are coming out about one per month, for $5 each. Why not just buy them?

Wipeout HD and Stacking (and tons of PS minis) for free. Qore for free every month (most probably don't care about that one, but I enjoy watching it). Timed exclusive betas and demos like KZ3. Discounts, usually fairly large ones, on tons of downloadable titles. Piles of avatars and themes. etc etc.
Playstation Plus is one of the best deals in gaming right now. Couldn't possible recommend it strongly enough if you're a PS3 owner.

Everyone should just buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection instead. It has more than 40 games, including everything listed here, and is listed at $16 new on Amazon.
Uhg, is Sega even making money off of repeatedly putting these out on discs and dlc? Can't we get some OTHER Sega games for once? Where are the releases for games the fans really want? Like Shenmue, Toejam and Earl(one of my faves at least), etc.
These games are with added trophy support for each game. I'll replay them because they're fun and for the extra trophies even if I have the PS3 Genesis collection. Maybe I won't replay Altered Beast though because it isn't that fun.

I would be happier, but I already have the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for my PS3.

Toejam has music licensing rights to get worked out whenever it gets dredged up, so it's frequently skipped.
Also, why anyone would consider this when Sonic's UGC is out in most places for $15 used or $20 new on BOTH platforms with a shitload more games and selection...

After many years of trying to retroactively get into Altered Beast, having missed out on it in my childhood, I've come to an unfortunate conclusion: the game has not held up well. I can see that it was considered really rad back in the day, but when I try to play it it's just a clunky beat 'em up, and the action never reaches the frantic heights of Ninja Turtles or X-men.

It costs the same as LIVE, but you actually GET SOMETHING for it, rather than the ability to use the online parts of the games YOU'VE PAID FOR ALREADY!
Also, you don't need to worry about the subscription ending and not being able to play your shit, just hit that "auto-renew" button and never worry about it again.
It's like, you get enough mini's and free PSN games to justify the price, and then on top of that you get all the beta access, avatards and dynamic themes too, and that seriously handy "update my shit while I'm asleep" function.

I love to see Sega MegaDrive games from other companies like Konami and Capcom. There are titles like Rocket Knight Adventure, Sunset Riders, Contra: Hard Corps from Konami and Strider, Forgotten Worlds, Mercs from Capcom. All great 16 bit games in the west.
I guess the west gets Sega games and Japan get PC Engine games because PC Engine/TurboGrafx was more successfull there.

i already have a genesis emulator and i have must of those games (for 15 more days) and for free on my ps3. also, have a real hd snes emulator, snes games are looking amazing with the right shaders.
Getting something from a paid membership isnt getting it for free it; it's paying for that stuff in advance
Altered Beast may be looked down upon by many, but the game will always be special to me. I have fond memories of playing it in arcades and on the Genesis, of course. Man, I wish SEGA would release Dick Tracy, Strider and Castle of Illusion to download...
