Sega announces new Yakuza project photo

As you may already be aware of, Yakuza 3 came out in Japan this past February, but so far there has been no word of the game coming to the United States. According to a report from Siliconera, Sega has no plans of slowing down on the series, and a new title is in the works already (although it isn't Yakuza 4)!

Series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi recently spilled the beans in an interview with Famitsu, although all we really came away with is that the game is being made for the Playstation 3 and that it is not Yakuza 4. Here's a cool tidbit, however: Sega will take applications from women who are interested as appearing as actual characters in the hostess clubs. If you want to watch yourself swoon in a flurry of hearts over a visitor, you just may get your wish.

Please, let this be Kenzan 2. Thank you.

Personally I was hoping for him to do something new, but this will work either way.

Just f*cking great. Now that's THREE quality titles we don't have from Sega.

I also want Way of the Samurai 3 brought over.

Damn it all, rub some more salt in the wounds, why don't you, SEGA? I even bought Yakuza 2 brand new to show my support. I would have bought the first one new if I could find it...

I'm in Chapter 4 of Yakuza 3 and I can honestly say, thanks to a very well written FAQ over at GameFAQ's, this is easily one of the most importable Japanese titles I've played.

I could swing bits and pieces of the story just from the general character actions, but the character relationships and emotion get lost in translation, obviously.

It's as close to Shenmue 3 as we'll ever get, though.

If Sega wanted to make all it's Brawling-RPG's be set in modern Japan, I wouldn't complain.

@BluDesign: No. It is not at all import friendly. Playing a story heavy game like Yakuza 3 without understanding the story and always having to read where to go next isn't very fun.

Yeah, I thought about importing it, but I played the demo and while the beat-em-up stuff was easy enough to figure out when I wandered over to the hostess club I was randomly pressing buttons and it wasn't particularly satisfying. So much of the game appears to be text.

A sequel to the Feudal era spin off is possible.
