Still, even if it turns out to be a by-the-book, generic squad based shooter, it may be interesting from a story point of view to be playing as "the bad guys" fighting against the status quo though technically, lots of games have dones something similar. FFXIII, for example (shame the story and game were crap)
Are these supposed to be examples of bad looking games?
Because stylised art styles of those games are pretty much timeless in comparison.
Shit on entire game.
Speculate details.
Fucking internet negativity.
This game may have some really cool play mechanics or a killer twist half way through but it's much cooler to just flame the game than post something funny and positive.
But then I was o_-
And by the end I was o_o
So, at least the premise hold potential.
Honestly I can't even remember. Either way it did terrible. As I said in that thread, I wish Eastern developers stopped trying to emulate the west and just acted like themselves. Bayonetta - NMH - Demon's Souls - all Eastern games that still broke the American bank.
And by that I mean both are excellent.
Not every game needs to be Vanquish - especially since I play with my wife a lot, and both aforementioned Nintendo games are multiplayer and s imple - right up her alley.
hmm the robots don't look as menacing as they should...
okay the big one is nice...
OH MY GOD SHE'S NAKED FROM THE WAIST DOWN!!! WHAT A TWIST!!!
Also
Magnalon - "...especially since I play with my wife a lot" lol :]
But just stop.
Yeah, why would you want to play a unique, visually interesting game with a feel-good play style when you can play shitty 3rd Person Shooter #127 in the video above? Idiots. Sorry, but you guys just failed. Hard.
Token Black guys - Seriously, get this guy some fried chicken and some "Hell nawww"'s
Dumb women sidekicks - bringing a pistol to an automatic fight, running out of bullets after 2 shots. Plus, she is surely to fall once or twice during a chase scene.
Super cool Main characters that do cool shit - "Lets use that scene from Transformers, where the guy slides under the robot, they loved that movie!" As opposed to shooting the bastard, that's a couple of feet away.
Enemies that can't shoot - Seriously, why did the second robot that was 3 feet away from sliding hero wait for him to get up, shoot the first robot, and then wait to get shot? I guess those are only T-1000 models.
The robot designs have promise... well the big one did anyway.
I don't know. If it's taken in the right direction with some new characters and focuses on it's story, it could be a really interesting game, rather than just another shooter. But I guess we'll have to wait and see before we pass final judgement.
It's painfully obvious in these types of games that the writers are standing outside the culture and trying to imitate it, and the end result just makes the game look absurd, even if it has some cool ideas that might otherwise have been intriguing. You just can't take it seriously.
I'm not even in favor of this trend, but if you're going to do it, get a talented western writer onboard, and have them involved right from the start.
After reading the set up I was forgiving of the cheesiness of the 1st part of the video as I thought they were aiming to look cliched to make the big twist more surprising, but it seems the cheesiness is actually their attempt at actual coolness =/
So becouse the hero or gameplay is sleightly changed it changes the entire game...
Well... Mario kart certainly is a mario game despite of the fact that you dont jump on goombas. no?
@Dv8thwonder
Since you bitch about Kirby Epic Yarn so much tell us your opinion on Kirby Tilt n' Tumble and Kirby's Canvas Curse.
Mario Kart is Mario Kart.
Im still going to stay cautiously optimistic, because the Yakuza dude is behind this game.
You sir are exactly right.
This trailer was kinda plain. I was hoping Shinobi and his dog would drop in there and shake things up. I miss Shinobi.
However I'll reserve judgement as far as the game goes till I actually see gameplay footage.
The same cannot be said of Epic Yawn which does nothing right but the controls.
@XakorXD It is when a 2-D 1st party title made by Nintendo can't even match sales of a 3-D Sonic game.
-Black guy
-Acrobatic girl
-Fighting a lot of enemies that look the same except for the boss who is taller
-Takes place on the street
It's confirmed to be a Streets of Rage sequel.
Well you may dismiss it, but the music, graphics, and game play were all good in my opinion. Considering that we live in a world where game devs only seem to want their games in ultra-realistic, anime inspired, or cell shading. Kirby Epic Yarn is a breath of fresh air.
@Davoidbot
I'd kill for a new streets of rage game!
