SEGA and Platinum teaming up for another new game photo

Platinum is cobbling together another game, and it'll be continuing its long-running partnership with SEGA in the process.

Sales and marketing VP Andrew Pritchard confirmed the title in his Game Informer interview, but that's all he said. So far, we have no idea what Platinum's got up its sleeve, but director Hideki Kamiya has been teasing Bayonetta 2 an awful lot lately, so there's a good chance that could be it.

So far, SEGA has published MadWorld, Infinite Space, Bayonetta and Vanquish for Platinum. They should get married if they love each other so much.

I'd really like to see a Bayonetta sequel.

Nothing wrong with them getting married if they continue to make amazing games and sega gives them the freedom to make what they want. I really hope they eventually make vanquish two. Bayonetta had amazing gameplay but I usually play games for story and bayonetta confused the hell out of me^^

"cobbling together a new game". Strange choice of words. I can't think of one Platinum Games game that felt "cobbled together"

I think a Bayonetta or Vanquish sequel would be fantastic, but I'd really like to see them start another new IP. It seems like Platinum is a pretty creative bunch. It would be a shame if they got stuck making sequels to everything.

I tried so hard to get into bayonetta and just couldn't do it. Loved DmC but just couldn't get down in bayonetta. I hope it is a sequel for you fans though. I'll be waiting for vanquish 2 myself. Fucking loved that one. Wouldn't mind a madworld sequel or port for ps/xbox either.

As long as we don't get another half-assed port to the PS3.

Dear SEGA: Vanquish 2 with multiplayer please! I would love to see a ton of people rocket-dashing around a map together.

did any of those games do well? Bayonetta maybe, but I'm not sure what the expectations were for that game and how it did in relation to DMC4.

Madworld didn't do well, but might have gained life in the bargain bins.

I doubt Infinite Space did large numbers and Vanquish doesn't look like it's burning up the sales charts.

I'm only asking because Sega is cut throat in how they publish. They'll put something on market and if it doesn't do well enough, it'll get slashed until inventory is burnt through.

I really love the concepts that Platinum puts in to their games, but I haven't bought a single one of them yet. They just don't make my games.

Neat-o. I've been thinking for a while that Sega needs to start putting out super crazy games like back in the Dreamcast games, and it seems like nobody can do crazy like Platinum.

It's gonna be Bayonetta 2. I really wished they move on and do something else though. I mean these guys are responsible for games like Viewtiful joe and Okami. I'd like for them to create something as amazing as those.

Bayonetta looks SO MUCH like Sarah Palin. I think it was you Jim who said she didn't but she totally does.

I would so love a Vanquish 2. For me it was one of the most exciting, if not most, exciting, shooters of the year.

I didn't seems to catch on and that unfortunate since it really deserves attention.

I know in the business world money talks. However, there's been a few instances where a game many though wouldn't get a sequel because of so-so sales but received a second chance so we'll see.

If by "Bayonetta looks SO MUCH like Sarah Palin" you mean that she has dark hair and glasses, then yes. Everything else, no.

Bayonetta and Vanquish are so yummy.

Even Madworld kicked ass, but was a tad bit repetitive.

I'm digging Sega these days.

I'd be all for a sequel or a new IP. It's all good. I'd prefer it be a 360/PS3 title, though.

PLEASE let it be an Infinite Space sequel for the 3DS. PLEASE let it be an Infinite Space sequel for the 3DS!

Infinite Space was horribly underrated by the western gaming media, but it's one of the best RPGs to come out for the DS, and almost definitely the best game to come out of the SEGA/Platinum partnership.

Vanquish wasn't for everyone, so of course people had all sorts of opinions about it. I loved it others hated it, that's fine.

"So far, we have no idea what Platinum's got up its sleeve"
not even that MP game Platinum said they're working on?

@manasteel88

Infinite Space actually did really well in Japan. Got pretty much universal praise in the gaming media over there, too.

It's reviews in the west are pretty much a textbook example why I hate the gaming media. The game got a lot of criticism leveled at it for flaws that weren't even true.

I can't wait for Bayonetta 2. The first one was so awesome that I can't imagine how much better a sequel could be. This is one of my most anticipated games, period.

Can Sega like reprint Infinite Space for their online store as it didn't take long for it to be so damn obscure on E-Bay.

@The Cast - I see copies at Gamestops on a near-regular basis. Try a store search.

Infinite Space is really one of the most unique games I've ever played and a testament to the unique games that could only be inspired by the DS platform. I wouldn't begrudge a follow-up to Bayonetta, but I'd love to see a title that expands on the many great ideas Infinite Space has.
