A new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 gives us a look at the cast (so far). There's the heroes, bad guys, and even a quick look at some of the returning stars of the past game.
For the heroes, we've got Serah and her space-y nightclub dress as well as ol' big pants himself, Noel. The returning cast bit was short, and I'm sure that's because there's more to come. For now we have two: Hope is all grown up and way less of a little bitch, and Snow probably can't wait to go back to the hairdresser after his hair grows back out from that mistake.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in about a month.
I am liking what I see in this game so far except the fact that it seems your party consists of Sera, Noel, and an assortment of pocket monsters, with the occasional non-controllable NPC.
Still cracks me up that they keep promoting this thing by featuring all the worst characters from the last game. Like it's a selling point! More Hope and Snow! WoohoO!
@ootmians Come now, these aren't the very worst characters of the first game. Vanille's yet to put in an appearance, something which I hope doesn't change any time soon.
I like Snow and Hope a lot more than Serah and Noel; like 10 times more each.
To me, Serah represents everything that went wrong with Snow as a character, and nothing I have seen lead me to believe her character is any different other than the new-found "fight for the future" attitude everyone seemed to hate in Vanille.
Heck, at least Snow and Hope grow as characters and evolve in their behavior. Serah's primary function was that of McGuffin; I have a hard time picturing her as anything else.
Noel just screams "Kingdom Hearts reject", and nothing more.
Yeah, yeah, "benefit of the doubt", and all that. Still not over the "party of two, plus pet" thing.
I think either i've outgrown FF or FF has evolved in a completely unappealing way. This sort of style, setting, plot and design does absolutely nothing for me. I play FFIX every now and then and wonder what happened.
I was hoping they could use this game to redeem Snow, who had a great design and VA, but was victim to terrible writing. Then I looked at his hair and general look in this new trailer.
Im the same, I think FF just went in the wrong direction to keep me hooked. I bought FF 13 for $20, and I will likely wait for this one to get that cheap too. It will take me buying one of these games for $20 and finding it awesome before I will ever buy a $60 Square Enix game again.
Jeez, why all the Hope hate? Maybe I'm the only one who actually found him the slightest bit relatable. In comparison to other characters, I could understand Hope's whining. He's like, what, fifteen in the first game? Just lost his mother and really isn't old enough or mature enough to realize that it wasn't Snow's fault that his mother died. I think he needed to go through the the motions of blaming, being sad, trying to find answers and then finally growing up a little at the end of the game. After all, he did end up living to his namesake, becoming a source of hope for the other characters. At least, that's how I saw it.
"I think either i've outgrown FF or FF has evolved in a completely unappealing way. This sort of style, setting, plot and design does absolutely nothing for me"
This. What the fucking hell happened to you, FF series?
I am almost done with FFXIII, but it has been like pulling teeth for me. 12 wasnt much of better ganeeither. I think after beating FFX 9 years ago, i would say it was one of the most satisfying modern FF game in recent memory
