Section 8 is getting a sequel, and that's amazing. A follow-up to last year's multiplayer shooter that was actually pretty good in spite of being rough around the edges, Section 8: Prejudice looks like more of the same, albeit with something that might actually threaten to be a story this time.

Check out the trailer above and prepare to be amazed at the concept of Section 8 selling enough to justify a sequel.

You...liked that game?

Well, I suppose it did have a lot of cool concepts, if the execution was EXTREMELY poor. I'll have to give the original a go sometime if I see it in a bargain bin. This sequel will likely also wait until bargain bin status.

... the game had potential but was unplayable due to the awful peer to peer server system and bad voice chat. Unless they do something with the servers, multiplayer is simply a no-go and it wasn't long enough or interesting enough to warrant a buy for the single player portion.

This was one of those rare games that I knew nothing about, picked up used, and really liked. I didn't even expect a sequel... what a pleasant surprise.

I actually don't know why everyone hated the first one. I loved it.

The game was so boring. The MP really didn't do anything better than other online shooters -- except for the respawn system -- that alone wasn't enough for my to justify playing it online. Plus the campaign didn't even deserve to be called a campaign.

It was pretty cool on PC... in beta. Somehow I don't think "plot" is the direction they should be heading in, and maybe more $20 downloadable multiplayer title would be better. I was really interested in getting it originally... but the whole DLC maps and trying to sell it as a full retail title kind of killed it.

Hahahaha... I read the headline and for some reason thought of the ol' classic, Wild 9. It was on PSone. I long time ago. Shut up, I'm old.

I still haven't played the first one that much. Cool for those that like S8 though.

Really, I like that subtitle. I hope it takes a gamble by making some kind of anti-war message instead of glorifying it like Gears of War or its like tend to do.

Wow... as if it hadn't already been a weird day. I really liked the first one and played it pretty solidly for a couple of months before school decided to step in and take all of my free time away. Let's hope that they can make some less generic looking art and build an audience for this one. Section 8 was close to being really really good.

It was mediocre, but it wasn't a bad game. It did what it did and it ran at a solid clip, but there was nothing great about it. I did enjoy it for what it was, however.

But the story was nonexistent, and the trailer for this one has story/cutscene portions that remind me of the ones from the first game, so that definitely has me worried. Granted, the sinle player in the first game was still better than the single player in UT3, but it wasn't what I look for in a $60 game. I look for a story that matters, actual level design, etc. The first game had a sinle player with large open maps, bot-like characters, and minimalist cutscenes.

I played the demo of the first one and actually liked it a lot. If the game had any community at all i would have bought it in a heartbeat.
Now if this one is a downloadable title right away, i might get it, because it does look really fun.

If Kain and Lynch got a sequel, why is anyone surprised about anything anymore

Thanks for the Heads up, Jim. I'll get right on ignoring this immediately, just like I did the original.

Whats funny about this is that the low income housing government service in my house is called Section 8. Section 8 is often associated with minorities. I think these devs knew this when making this title.
