Everyone loves the replay feature in
Halo 3. Everyone,
except probably Bungie -- especially in cases like this video. This "new vehicle" can be found on the level with the first boss battle with the Scarab. Get two people into the dumpster, tip it over, then both players need to jump at the same time and watch as the dumpster becomes airborne. You can even steer the dumpster!
Awesome glitch, now my only question: How does someone stumble upon such a crazy glitch? This does gives a whole new meaning to dumpster diving! Am I right?!

Does anyone know how to rip the FLV file from the page, as in saving it to my computer? I need this.
That does sound good, but that doesn't quite account for why it only works with two people. Haven't tried it but I'd imagine that with one person it just does enough to tilt the thing over, but with two I guess there's enough energy to push it up. What I don't get is how it coninues forward if your only jumping up, unless part of the art of dumpster flying is jumping up and what little forward you can in the confined space. Otherwise, awesome glitch find, I'm trying it out as soon as I can

The end of that video. They speed it up, because it takes quite a while to get real height with it.

Colliding with the dumpster gives an impulse to the dumpster. Normally when you collide with things this happens.
However, JUMPING from the dumpster does NOT give an impulse to the dumpster, in violation of physics. This is because halo characters normally don't jump off of diving boards where jumping could cause some physical reaction.
Hence the bug.
