Secret Agent Clank gets date and snazzy bow tie photo

Everyone and everything looks good in a bow tie, and Sony's pint-sized hero Clank is no exception. The first game with him in a starring role, the PlayStation Portable title Secret Agent Clank, has just been given a release date -- June 17.

Secret Agent Clank finds Clank's furry pal Ratchet behind bars for a crime that he didn't commit, which means only one thing -- it's time to put on a bow tie and kick some ass. Using a variety of James Bond-esque gadgets --  cuff link bombs, a flaming pen, jet boots, a tie that acts as a boomerang -- Clank will platform and fight through multiple areas to help clear his friend's name.

Having recently just picked up a copy of Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters for the PSP, I know that developer High Impact Games is up to the task of bringing a solid action/platforming experience to the handheld. Let's hope that they work on some of the camera issues that nearly ruined the Size Matters experience for me. Unsurprisingly, Sony hasn't sent over a preview build of the game for us to play, so we'll all have to wait until June 17 to see how this one turns out.

I wrote an article about this game, and this info was up early in the morning yesterday on Wikipedia. Right after that all of the gaming sites showed the news.

@ Nick Chester: Size Matters gave me a headache and made me nauseous on numerous occasions. I think it was a combo of the camera and the small screen.

It was still a good game underneath all that, so lets hope they can fix that. Definitely.

Nice try Clank, but you're never going to outsnaz Niero in his pimp suit.

As long as clank plays better by himself than he has in previous versions. Seems so forced with the bot control and lack of double jump/helicopter hover :/

I want the little ratchet figure they're giving away as a pre-order bonus.
