Update: Everyone calm down and carry on: Sony has confirmed that it's fake.
A few days ago we pointed you to a Japanese viral video that teases at the PS4 and shows off some 3D gaming...er, side effects. Now it seems that Sony is at it again with a second video.
This one has English subtitles, but looks to be taking place in the same lab that the first one did. The YouTube channel itself is called SCElabs. A test subject looks to be playing a shooter (later, a logo that looks a lot like Modern Warfare pops up), but has to stop as things get too realistic. He facepalms, and we facepalm right along with him.
This time the trailer is not shy. It plainly shows the PS4 logo, and then says "now testing." Those with really good eyes will see the text "PS4 v4.0" at the very end of the video. I wonder why they keep adding to the v. number.
With all of this going on a week before E3, I'm guessing Sony is going to tell us something soon.

For Sony's sake, this hopefully isn't a new console so soon, what with the whole 10-year thing they said long ago...
There's so many reasons that a "PS4" is a horrible, horrible idea right now.
On top of that, financially they couldn't justify selling a new console at a loss for another five years now that they actually have a chance of making money on the PS3.
I seriously want to know how the meetings to plan and get ideas for this kinda shit come together.
There's no way there's a new system involved here. Not even arrogant, smug arse Sony could talk their way out of that one.
You seem to be moaning like as if they're doing what Nintendo/Apple do and release a new version of the same system every 9-18 months (iPod/iPhone and DS/DsLite/DSi/DSiXL/DSiUpYourBum says hi!), plus not to mention even if the PS4 is about to be announced it's not gonna be for another year or 2 at the least.
Calm down dear, it's a commercial!
That being said, when SONY does announce the next actual console in 3-4 years, will it be called the PS5 then? Since they already used PS4?
BTW - 3D I hate you, I hope you die faster than HD-DVD.
Sony you're taking a BIG RISK here, I hope this pans out more than most of your hair brain ideas in the past.
The 3D update that this will more-than-likely turn out to be has me interested though!
The only reason people are upset is because its cool to be mad at Sony. Sony could send everyone $100 in the mail and people would complaining that its not a new Ferrari.
I wish Microsoft decided to do the same thing, then we'd see peoples true colors.
