When Square Enix patented the name Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII with the United States Patents and Trademark Office in May 2006, it totally slipped under my radar. I had no idea this game even existed. So imagine my delight when this official-looking logo popped up today!

Could this be the mysterious "unknown" project that is going to be shown at the Square Enix Party 2007? If it is, then they kind of let the cat out of the bag. If not, then we have more salivating to do. In any case, no details on platform or relation to the rest of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series yet. 

Oh, and for you linguistically challenged, that word with too many vowels is Latin for "heresy". 

In other news, Hushgush, Colette, and I are a 3-man Final Fantasy hype machine!

Destructoid should make a new rule stating that we can no longer report on anything that has to do with Final Fantasy, unless it involves Squeenix ending the series.

seriously though, who the fuck cares and keeps track of all these titles? By the end of the year we will have 13 different versions of FF XIII.

Someone should tell Square-Enix that you CAN have too much of a good thing. That pic of all the different Final Fantasy games kind of makes my heart break because of how much they are starting to rape the franchise.

Regarding this...I seriously doubt it will be a PS3 game. Wii? Doubtful. DS? That's where my money's at.

I wonder if this is the one that'll be coming to Xbox 360. Either way this kind of franchise milking is just sickening. And I thought Street Fighter was bad.

You know, Nomura has said before that Final Fantasy Versus XIII might turn out to be a temporary title, since it was chosen mainly to symbolize a change of direction. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this turned out to be the new name for that project.
