Sure, we've all seen Tatsunoko Vs Capcom before. Hell, it's been out in Japan for so long that we've even managed to give it a proper review by now. But the following screenshots and videos are from the North American version, and that makes them new, right? (Shhh, just agree.)
In any case, you might not have been paying attention when media for the Japanese release made its rounds, considering we had no idea if we'd ever get to play it. Now that we know for sure it's coming to the Wii in the US, it might be a good time to perk up and take a look, even if it's just to refresh your memory.
In the gallery and after the jump, you'll find the latest pics and videos from SDCC, featuring action from the North American version of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. There seems to be more focus on Viewtiful Joe here to cater to an American audience, but otherwise I don't spot too many differences. You?
Joe and Ken, two of the characters I want to play as. ._.
This makes me wish I had a Wii. Hopefully it comes to other consoles someday.
*crosses fingers*.
I'm still just waiting for them to announce the new characters. I'm gonna be getting this either way, but it would sell a LOT more units if they added Dante.
I hope the new characters are interesting AND fun to play as, no matter who they are. Is that Viewtiful Joe's english actor? I couldn't tell but he better be in the game.
I really do hope they do their best to rebalance the game, I know it is a versus game and all but come on, Karas and Chun-Li are ridiculous.
Did they really get rid of the character themes for the US version??? The music that are in these recent us version vids seem as forgettable to me as SF4's music.
They got rid of Hakushon Daimaō it was said on the evo stream.
Apparently the game is also rebalanced technically making the american version more of a second version than just a localization.
Crunshii: Cuz Capcom already made SF4 for those. They wouldn't want to compete with themselves. They make more money doing things like this, it brings attention, and if and when they make a sequel/port, everyone will jump on it. Capcom's a successful company, and it's cuz theyre smart.
xiaolin style/crunshii - The game is on the Wii because the arcade version of Tatsunoko basically runs off a Wii. It is by far the easiest to translate to, not because Nintendo wants it that way or whatever bs you're trying to shove off but because it's already running on Wii architecture at the arcade. It didn't sell horribly because it's a Wii-only title. That is absolutely retarded.
The statement about TvC2 being more likely on 360/PS3 than the first game is basically just saying, "Don't count on seeing it anywhere else." Companies reuse arcade boards and such and if a second game shows up, it'll be on the same engine.
TvC is not coming to the PS360. It will never come to the PS360. Stop saying it will come to the PS360, nor will any other installment running on the same engine, because it's not, end of story.
@xiaolin style
Proof that nintendo has exlusivity rights please. If not stfu.
Its not on 360/ps3 because capcom didnt know if it was going to be sucesssful, in fact it didnt sell well in japan and people doesnt play it in the arcades anymore. It was a surprise it was announced for america for that reason. If the game was hd and running on taito x2 it would have cost a lot more. It was more of a business decision to leave it as a wii exclusive since you cannot port it in its current state.
Really stop using the facts you take off your ass.
@xiaolinstyle
I like how i dont even own a wii but you are callig me a fanboy. Believe me i would be so happy if capcom releases tvc on ps3/360 it just not going to happen.
Then again we got mvc2 which is the better game.
xiaolinstyle - you are definitely one of the dumbest people I have ever come across.
This isn't hard to understand. The arcade version of Tatsunoko runs on Wii hardware. That is basically it. They aren't going to completely redo the game in HD and for completely different hardware unless the game is a guaranteed hit.
I know this must be hard for your tiny brain to figure out, but it has nothing to do with anything Nintendo has ever said. Capcom made it on different hardware and is then putting it on the system that is basically the same hardware. The end.
Wow...Sooooo many Idiots. I'm not sure what to say about the whole porting issue...But in terms of Japanese version. The Wii version sold like crap becuase, Gamers are playing it in the arcade in fact it's in terms of all fighting games. People are going around saying that People didn't play the arcade version. Which they did do. But none of you have proof nor facts stating your statements that the arcade version failed. You guys are such Marvel vs. Fanboys that any one else Capcom teams with you would just bash it. Sure, I'm sure no one is playing the arcade anymore in fact Japanese gamers don't play the vs series that much anyway. So it doesn't matter if it's Marvel or SNK. Tatsunoko vs Capcom had it's run in the arcades but with new RPGs coming out in Japan. Not that many gamers are in the arcades today. So it didn't fail, Leave your fanboyism before you log in and do some research before running your mouth on the internet.

In the mean time... play my puppets, play!
(crap... I see the Heroin Silverdragon coming!)
Anyways, Its nothing to get worked up about because TvC isn't that amazing of a fighter from what I've seen and read.
Go buy a copy of BB if you want to play an amazing fighting game.
The music sounds better for these videos.

You have zero proof of anything.
